    The towing service selected this place and towed my car here after an accident. They did work on the car outside what insurance authorized and it cost me approximately $1500 more than what insurance approved. Then when I went to pick up my car they refused payment except for cash and refused to let me speak to an owner.

    This garage failed to provide towing service and inappropriately charged for diagnostic service

    We will not be refunding this gentleman's request for a refund for the following reasons:

    1. We picked the vehicle up in ****** for AAA 

    2. The vehicle was towed to our facility without the owner present, which implies an agreement to have diagnostics on his vehicle.

    3. The diagnosis was given and it turned out the part was warrantied under the manufacturers warranty.

    4. We towed the vehicle to the dealer for replacement of the part, under AAA.

    5. The $184.40 was for the diagnostics, it had nothing to do with the towing of the vehicle.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    This business responded that they received a request for a tow. This original request was on 12/13. They never showed up. Did they receive my original request? They then said that they towed my vehicle without the owner present. That is false. I was present. They then wrote that they charged me a diagnostic fee of $184. If they had noted the mileage of the vehicle (<35K) and suggested I contact a ****** dealer, which I did, as the vehicle is still under a manufacturer's warranty AND an after-market policy that covers this mechanical issue and diagnostic charges if approved, that would have been a far better offer than telling me it will be a $1,000 repair job. Honesty is always the best policy, Entwistle Garage.

    I have spoken with the service department about this complaint and the response was that we could not know if something was covered under the original warranty from the manufacturer or through an after market warranty just by the mileage.  The problem needed a diagnosis in order to proceed with either warranty.  We could have completed the repairs under the after market warranty company if the vehicle had not been removed to the dealer for possible manufacturer warranty repairs, which it was not covered under.  I would like to extended a gift card worth $185.00 to use any time at our facility.
