I had a verbal agreement with *** to pay $750 plus materials. The worker *** was a slow as he could be. He took part of 3 days to repair a hole approximately 12" x 8" in my ceiling. He came one day and did nothing. He decided the spackle was not not dry. I had a heater and the ceiling fan running all weekend. I think what he saw was a big spot he missed with the spackle. The grey from the sheet rock was showing. Anyway, he took 20 minutes to bring in his stuff, decided it wasn't dry and 20 mins to remove his stuff. It took him an hour to put plastic down on the floor about 3 x 4'. We had an appt on day 2 at 2 pm. He came early and I wasn't home. I'm guessing he charged me to sit in my driveway even though he wasn't due for more than a hour later. The last time this same work was done, it took no more than 3 hours TOTAL including painting! I never agreed to pay almost $2000 for this tiny job. They charged $173 for material. He did leave the gallon of ceiling paint. If I paid for a sheet of plywood, then I want it. The hole was only 12x8 INCHES BIG! CROOKS!

    *****,

I have made several attempts to discuss this with you, but you have not responded to my messages.

My primary objective is to make certain that each of our customers is treated fairly and is fully satisfied with our work. Id like to start with a couple questions for you:
Is the project completed to your satisfaction?
    - Did *** clean up after himself and leave the area in good condition?
    - Did *** treat you and your home with courtesy and respect?
Since you have not mentioned any issue with any of the project itself, I am hoping that the answer to each is Yes.

You will recall that when we spoke about your project, I explained that we work on an Actual Time and Materials basis and that our billing rates are $200 for the first hour (minimum charge) and $130 per hour thereafter. After you described the scope of work, I was able to give you an ESTIMATE of 4 6 hours of work plus materials, if you needed the entire ceiling painted it would be 6 8 hours. I also mentioned that this was an estimate and that YOUR FINAL INVOICE WOULD REFLECT THE ACTUAL TIME AND MATERIALS APPLIED TO YOUR PROJECT.

It took *** a bit longer than anticipated because, 1. the drain pipe extended lower than the ceiling and required additional work to hide it, 2. the high relative humidity slowed the drying process and 3. the entire ceiling needed to be painted. Dans materials included drywall patch board, joint compound, paint, disposable drop clothes, sanding blocks and screens, and cleaning materials, as expected.

As I mentioned at the beginning, my objective is to make sure that you are treated fairly. You may pay whatever you believe is fair given that the project was completed to your satisfaction. Simply mail a check to our office at *************************************************; or follow the link in the original e-mail to pay by card. Once we receive your payment, I will close out your invoice.

I would ask that consider updating your review to reflect that I have attempted to reach a fair agreement with you.

    Best regards,
