Very first order came, and ingredients were not fresh at all, nor was the box cold inside. *****/tan cauliflower? Yum! I didn't trust to eat or at all, so I threw the whole box away. Immediately went on their website to cancel the next shipment, and they wouldn't let me. Got back to me the next day and said that there was nothing they could do about it. 100% waste of money.

False advertising & misleading coupon. Signed with the new you50 coupon and was under the impression that we would receive first 5 boxes with a discount. First box was marked with discounted price, but all others were at regular price. Reached out to customer service and was advised they could only show discount for the current week. They also advised that only boxes received in ******* would be at discount, so would only count for 3 boxes. Cancelled my subscription because of the shady pricing scheme.

They make the user interface difficult to navigate, its very hard to change meal plans The chat feature does not work and you dont find out until you spend a lot of time writing They closed my service request immediately after I submitted it They forced me to answer invasive personal questions page after page with no option to not answer and then they asked for my DOB which is extremely unacceptable I do not want them to sell my information or the results of my survey questions which have nothing to do with the meal plan.Absolutely disgusting marketing and aggressive sales tactics Its a shame that they are so awful and intrusive that I have to complain because their food looks amazing and they have a good reputation or so I thought. But this was a scary experience. It may not appear to be on the surface but my god it was horrible.

Save yourself the trouble- dont sign up.Are the recipes good? Yes Are ingredients are fresh: sometimes Will you receive your order: maybe Will they refund money? only if you ask Theres so much potential here but its executed poorly. The recipes are mostly good, but everything else needs work. I got several boxes from them and am going to cancel. 2-3 times ingredients showed up and were rotten or rotted within 2 days; and twice in a row my shipment just didnt show up. Whats more problematic is that I was notified by Purple Carrot that there was a shipping problem with their carrier, and even told that the box wouldnt show up, and to discard it if it did- BUT THEY DIDNT ISSUE A REFUND. It appears that their policy is that you have to ASK for your money back within 7 days, EVEN IF THEY KNOW you didnt get your order. Are they hoping people dont realize they didnt get their money back? Granted they did give refund me- but the aging ingredients, plus lost boxes, plus having to remind them to refund me for food not received is enough. I feel like that frequency of issues would be acceptable if I was using the service for a longer time but it was less than 6 months.

I signed up for a trial of Purple Carrot back in 2019. More recently, I signed up for another one again, with a second email address. In the process of cancelling the second trial, I accidentally logged into the first account (created in spring 2019), did some clicking around bc I was confused, then saw it was the wrong account and logged out.Somehow, the act of logging into this first account led it to reactivate. This means that Purple Carrot went ahead and charged me $90, even though I was not notified I had ordered anything, nor did I even receive a receipt for this purchase. I only noticed bc I saw the charge on my credit card statement. This is almost certainly illegal and regulators should investigate the company. However, when I contacted customer service, they were helpful in replying, and while they tried to claim it was fine to charge me $90 without telling me, they did refund my money. The food itself is fine -- it's good, but def not worth the full sticker price of something like $12-16 per 400-calorie frozen meal.

Awful company that has terrible customer service. They prey on consumers making things complicated and not having a functioning site. Stay away!
