The transaction occurred in April 2024. My child wanted to get a naval piercing. The website indicated $40 for the navel piercing, a $40 to hold a spot and cost of jewelry was depended on the choice. My child was shown jewelry and they chose what they were informed was the cheapest one. At the end of the transaction, a bill of $300+ was shown and my child had to pay for it. I called my bank to understand why the bill was so high. As a parent I looked on the website myself and confirmed the costs. Through my banks investigations I learned that the cost of the jewelry included multiple parts. This is not mentioned on the website except in the **** as per the *** when I called. Its hidden so customers can't see it right away and its deceptive marketing. This is a material fact that was mis***resented and harmed me financially. I called the store to ask for details and the *** was helpful at first by giving me details of the transaction but then when I questioned some facts, she told me that my child was the issue. I asked if maybe the person who sold my child the jewelry possibly made a mistake of what jewelry my child wanted, the *** was rude and blamed my daughter of wrongdoing. The *** indicated that she would speak to the owner and get me the necessary information I asked for and have the owner reach out to me. Neither has happened to this date. This morning ( 7/28/24) my daughter informed the jewelry from the piercing broke and fell off. I would like my money returned at this point. We paid $330 . IF this was an expensive piece of jewelry and the website states "we only carry the highest quality body jewelry available, ranging from implant grade titanium to solid gold! ..." My daughters jewelry was the higher priced one. The only receipt I have is the charge on my debit card.

      Dear ******,

I appreciate your patience as we address your concerns regarding your child's experience. It appears there have been some misunderstandings during this process that I would like to clarify. Our website states that the starting price for piercing jewelry is $40 for most piercings; however, navel piercings require jewelry that begins at $55. The overall cost includes both the jewelry and the piercing fee, which is covered by the deposit made to reserve the appointment. The quoted price for the jewelry encompasses all necessary components, allowing for further customization if desired. In our shop, we display a large selection of jewelry at various price points. While we do point out the most basic options upon request, we do not limit customers to these choices and are transparent about the pricing of other available options. We prioritize transparency and always seek customer approval for the quoted price before finalizing any transaction. Since your child is 18 and visited our shop independently, they were responsible for selecting the jewelry and the price range they were comfortable with.

Regarding the issue of jewelry breaking, we provide a lifetime guarantee on our products and will repair them at no cost. Body jewelry contains moving parts, and we advise customers to regularly check and tighten the jewelry as part of their aftercare routine to prevent loosening over time. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for lost items, but we are happy to assist with repairs for any broken pieces. Please let us know if this solution is acceptable. We are committed to ensuring a positive experience and delivering quality service to all our customers!

I am rejecting this response because the business is only trying divert the problem with the service , material used and cost of the service. In addition. my daughter was told her belly button was small it was placed upside down. As it turns out because the piercing broke my daughter had to get a new piercing where we live and it was put in correctly.  So once again the person who put in the initial piercing, charged my daughter more than what she expected and did not provide the proper service for the cost.  They are unable to prove through their reply that my daughter agreed to a high priced jewelry. Just because she is 18 doesnt mean anything.  You are the business who was paid for services.  I would like a refund of $200.

      Sincerely,

      ******,
Attached is a copy of the receipt for the transaction made by your daughter on April 10, 2024. The jewelry selected features a yellow gold piece with gemstones, which is notably different from the standard options shown in store. Should there be any discrepancies regarding the charge for the item received, please do not hesitate to inform me. The non-gold component is composed of high-quality implant-grade titanium, recognized for its biocompatibility which accounts for the pricing of the post and bead items listed on the receipt.

In terms of jewelry placement during the piercing, we rely on the expertise of our trained professional piercers to ensure optimal healing. Individual anatomy can vary greatly, particularly in areas such as navels, which are subject to significant movement and friction from clothing. At times, the piercer may find it necessary to modify the placement or type of jewelry to enhance healing, and adjustments can be made once the piercing has settled and can accommodate more movement.

I apologize if my previous explanation did not meet your expectations. Please be assured that we take these matters very seriously and are dedicated to providing our customers with a positive piercing experience that ensures both joy and durability with their chosen jewelry. We stand behind our products, offering a lifetime guarantee against legitimate breakage. Given the nature of body movement and jewelry, we stress the importance of clients regularly checking and tightening their pieces to prevent loosening and potential loss, as we are unable to offer refunds in such cases. I am unclear about the specifics of the broken jewelry you mentioned, and I hope our policies are understandable based on this explanation. I trust that the documentation of the transaction is adequate to demonstrate that your child consented to this charge, as they provided the payment, selected the tip based on the total, and completed the transaction at the point of sale.
