On July 12, 2024, I contracted with Mass Bay Movers to store my furniture after a flood that impacted my condominium located in *********, **. Upon the delivery of my belongings back to my condominium on November 13, 2024, I discovered that my Washed Oak Lacquer bedroom set was delivered back to my condominium with yellow stains on all three pieces of furniture. It is important to note that this furniture was in a bedroom that was not directly impacted by the flood which primarily occurred in the kitchen and living room area of my condominium.Mass Bay was negligent in its handling of my furniture when said furniture was in its custody as the employees wrapped the furniture pieces in plastic wrap and it appears that it was stored in a location that was not climate controlled. A quick ****** search would reveal that lacquer furniture should not be wrapped in plastic and stored in a location that is not climate control as plastic is notorious for condensing moisture out of the air which will ruin furniture and cause yellow staining. When I brought this matter to the attention of Mass Bay Movers, I was told that Mass Bay strongly believes that it did nothing to cause this damage. I can say with 100% confidence that I know that this furniture was not stained when it was placed into your care within your storage unit. The furniture was in perfect condition before Mass Bay Movers took custody of it. Mass Bay failed to exercise reasonable care in storing my belongings, which directly led to the damage in question. As a result, I am now seeking compensation for the cost of repairs, or if repair is not possible, the fair market value of the damaged furniture. ******** will not offer any compensation to repair the damage or provide fair market value.

      Business Response

      Hello,

The furniture you're claiming is discolored was moved out due to an insurance claim. During that claim your house was subjected to great changes in heat and humidity. Your furniture is over twenty years old. The photos we have from before the move happed the color of the furniture is consistent. In your new house the wall color is different that will effect your perception of the colors.

We do not believe we caused the claim you are attesting and denied it.

      Sincerely,

      ******** ****
