Two charges have been approved did not authorize from an expired debit card issued by them. The first time it happened I was told that some merchants can auto renew without your updated card info. Today, I was told that since I used my card when it wasnt expired with a doctor, the doctor was able to place a hold and a purchase with a expired card I told the doctor not to use (I provided alternate payment and that was also billed). So right now, $1100 of my money in the account linked to my mortgage is on hold I cant access it. The bank refuses to consider this fraud, refuses to lift the hold, and told me many contradictory things. Basically they said any Mastercard merchant can bill my expired debit card. I asked if I got a new one, could a Mastercard merchant make an unauthorized transaction I was told not any just the ones Ive said yes to in the past. My debit card was date raped and my checking account does not have the funds that should be in it for me to pay my mortgage because Berkshire Bank cannot and does not keep their debit cards secure. I was told I have to wait from 11/21 to 11/28 to maybe get the hold to fall off. I want to pay my mortgage and buy my dog a flea collar that goes on sale once a year. That once a year ends Sunday, I wont have the money. This could have been stopped in October the first time it happens but the rep then told me trust AAA, they will refund you. Well, I cant trust AAA I told them in time Im not renewing and two days later Berkshire allowed them to commit fraud and charge an unauthorized $160 then told me if I reported it as fraud it would take 90 days for me to get my money back. You cant call the branches, you talk to double speak people working from home who dont care you could lose yours because of THEIR mistakes. This is criminal.
