*************************** enrolled in the Clinical Medical Assisting (CMA) certificate program at Mildred Elley's **********, ** Campus beginning 7/17/17. The CMA Program is a 45-semester credit program, with an expected total cost of $19,744 for tuition, fees and books. CMA Program information from 2017-18 catalog is provided.
Students who fail a class which is required for their program must retake the class. Students are billed each time they are enrolled for a particular class. ******************** failed MAA100 Introduction to Patient Care class four times prior to withdrawing on 11/26/18. Each time she took the class, she was billed $927 tuition, $36 Registration Fee, and $75 Lab Fee. Thus, the students overall cost of attendance increased, and the program length was extended from the amounts originally expected. ******************** met with a Financial Aid Representative on 5/18/18 and was presented with an Estimated Financial Aid Assistance Package a projection of the total costs and aid for her enrollment in the CMA Program. The Estimate which she signed to accept the financial aid projected total costs at that time of $19,159.32. Copies of students transcript, account ledger, and Estimate signed 5/18/18 are provided. ******************** reentered the CMA Program on 5/20/19. Prior to enrolling, she met with a Financial Aid Representative who presented her with an updated Estimated Financial Aid Assistance Package for her new enrollment. At the time, it was expected that she would need 17 credits to complete her certificate, at a total cost of $8,636. The student failed MA205 Cardivascular Care and Procedure two times and withdrew again on 2/10/20. Estimate signed 5/16/19 is provided. ******************** reentered the CMA Program on 7/27/20. At that time, it was expected that she would need 14 credits to complete her certificate, at a total cost of $8,042. The student took two Leaves of Absence and graduated from the CMA Program on 9/1/21. Estimate signed 7/23/20 is provided. ******************** immediately returned to Mildred Elley to the Medical Office Assistant certificate program. Prior to enrolling, she met with a Financial Aid Representative who presented her with an Estimated Financial Aid Assistance Package for her new program. She was able to transfer 27 credits from her CMA program into this 38-credit program, with an expected cost of $5,259.67. ******************** failed five classes and took two Leaves of Absence. When she returned from the Leaves, she met with a Financial Aid Representative who presented her with an updated ******************* Aid Assistance Package, which she signed 9/27/22. She failed two classes and subsequently graduated from this certificate program 5/14/23. MOA Program information from 2021-22 catalog, Estimate signed 9/7/21, and Estimate signed 9/27/22 are provided. In six years, ******************** earned two certificates from Mildred Elley. Her total costs of tuition, fees, books and supplies is $43,655.50. The time it took her to complete these programs and the costs were increased by her need to repeat failed course work, taking Leaves of Absences, and withdrawing from the school.
The Career Services Office works with every graduate to help bridge the gap between education and real-world opportunities, ensuring a seamless transition into a fulfilling career. The Career Services Director has continuously worked with ******************** on interview skills, resume writing and to help secure interviews with our community employers. ******************** employment opportunities were limited due to childcare and availability, which have played a role in the difficulty with job Placement. ******************** stated she would only be available to work from 8:45am-3:00pm. Please see the continuous outreach from the Career Services Director to help support ******************** with employment.*************************** graduated from the Clinical Medical Assistant program on 09/01/2021 and immediately enrolled in the Medical Office Assistant program beginning on 09/20/2021. ******************** graduated from the Medical Office Assistant program on 05/14/2023 and met with the Career Services Director to begin her job search.
On 05/15/2023, the Career Services Director reached out to the Human Resources Manager at *********** ************ ************* on behalf of *******************. ******************** resume was submitted and reviewed for employment. ******************* interviewed on 05/23/2023 and had a second interview on 06/02/2023 at Community Health Program. Due to the limited hours ******************** could work, she was not offered the position. Community Health Program was looking for full-time employees.
On 05/18/2023, the Career Services Director reached out to the Family Practice Manager on behalf of ********************. ******************** resume was submitted and reviewed for employment. The Practice Manager stated the office was looking for full-time employees and may consider the hours that ******************* could work.
On 06/15/2023, the Career Services Director reached out to the Practice Manager at ********* Ear Nose & Throat on behalf of *******************. ******************** resume was submitted and reviewed for employment. On 06/21/2023, ******************** interviewed at ********* Ear Nose & Throat. On 06/29/2023, the Practice manager from ***** emailed the Career Services Director and stated she did not feel ******************** would be a good fit for the position.
On 07/03/2023, the Career Services Director reached out to ******************** to discuss other job opportunities.
On 08/31/2023, the Career Services Director spoke with *******************, and she stated she would be interviewing at ***************** on 09/05/2023. The Director and ******************** discussed interview techniques and questions to ask pertaining to an office position.
On 09/05/2023, the Career Services Director spoke with ******************* about her interview at *****************. ******************** stated that it went ok.
On 11/13/2023, the Career Services Director tried calling multiple times and emailed ******************** regarding setting up a time to come in and meet to discuss more job opportunities.
On 11/30/2023, the Career Services Director reached out to the Senior Staffing Manager at ****** on behalf of ********************. ******************** resume was submitted and reviewed for employment. ******************** interviewed at ****** on 12/04/2023.
On 12/07/2023, ******************** interviewed at ************* ********** *******.
On 12/13/2023, the Career Services Director spoke with ******************* about Substitute opportunities for the ********** Public Schools. The Substitute schedule fits well with ******************** availability. She stated she would be applying there.
