      On July 8th I hired R&T Roofing to replace the roof on my home and garage. They came and did the workthat day I was suffering with kidney stones so I was unable to fully check on their work. When they were done I immediately paid *** the owner a check and total payment was $13,599.00. When he left I noticed on the peak of my house roof there is a small piece of clear plastic sticking out,and ridge vent that was on the original roof was not installed on the new roof and the front porch they cracked my cedar siding and just did a terrible job with the flashing as shown in the picture. I contacted *** and he came back to look. He said he would be back first thing in the morning. I waited all day he never showed up. I contacted him again and again he said he would be there first thing in the morning. I waited all day and he never showed. I contacted him again and he promised to show again first thing in the morning. I waited all day he never showed. Now I texted him and told him now that he has my money he just is not going to show up. He got very insulted and said it would be fixed by the end of the week. It has now been 2 weeks of no show. All his promises were done by text so I have proof of what ** saying. I certanly need your help to get him back and complete the job.

      My mother, who is 84 years old, had her roof replaced by R and T Roofing. There is now a leak, and water is seeping into an upstairs bedroom ceiling and damaging the ceiling . I have called the roofer six times in the past two weeks: 12/20 at 2:45 pm, 12/21 at 7:33 pm, 12/23 at 1:04 pm, 12/26 at 9:44 am, 12/28 at 4:24 pm, and 1/2 at 10:16 am. I just left another message today at 2:05 pm. There was a similar situation last summer. It took weeks of calling to get him to respond then as well. So, this is not our first bad experience with this company.

      BBB spoke to the business owner ****************, he apologized for delays that were due to both business and personal issues. He stated that he went to the consumers home the first week of January within about 3-6 days of the last message left on 01/03 and addressed the issue which was related to a leak around the vent pipe for the bathroom exhaust fan, which appeared to have a crack in the old silicone, by removing the old silicone, and applying new silicone. Also, checked and repaired other shingles on the roof he noticed should be addressed while there. He spoke with the homeowner, and showed her the work that he performed. He has not heard from the consumer again since the repair was completed.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me for the time being.  The roof was supposedly repaired last summer, again after many attempts to contact **************** and promises to show up that never materialized.  Again the excuse was that he had personal and business issues.  We all do.  Barring traumatic or emergent issues, it is nothing short of professional to respond promptly or to follow through on a commitment that you made.  We can only hope that this issue is now fully resolved, and there will be no need to contact **************** in the future.
