  I had James and his son replace some windows, fix some rotted trim, level a deck and a shed. All the work was outstanding. I highly recommend them and will hire them again. Thanks again for the great work.

  Prompt, professional, fast. I have struggled with finding someone I could trust to work on our house, but not any more! I trust James and his son with any projects, because their work is outstanding. And did I mention fast? Not too fast, but so fast and great you won't believe it. From replacing almost an entire back wall of our house to installing a medicine cabinet, they did everything we asked and more. The work areas were clean and the house treated with respect. And they were very affordable!Now we just need to find more for them to do!

  For over twenty-four years, I have engaged the services of Renovations by James Martel. James has transformed my cookie cutter home into a custom home. Initially, I hired James for a kitchen remodel. He listened carefully to what I wanted and made sure the final product was what I had envisioned. The quality of the finished work was exceptional. His attention to detail and craftsmanship was truly remarkable. I was so impressed with the results that I hired his company to build an addition with an attached deck. I was so amazed at how the structure blended in with my existing home. Not only was I impressed with the result, but also the behavior of the sub-contractors. They demonstrated the highest level of professionalism, skill, and dedication. Throughout the years, Renovations by James Martel has completed several projects:Windows and door replaced. In some instances, *** reframed the windows, so I could have transoms or stacked windows. Trim and baseboards replaced. Crown molding installed. The wraparound porch and backyard deck updated with TREX decking and railing system. Currently, a garage makeover is in progress. James and *** replaced the exposed cement with drywall and painted the ceiling, walls, door, and trim. Subcontractors installed an epoxy floor and replaced the garage door openers.   Continued: From 2017 through 2024, I have hired James (now with his son Jim) for several interior and exterior projects. A subcontractor installed stone veneer on the chimneys and the cement foundation. The result was outstanding. The mason did an exceptional job. In addition, a new roof and gutters were installed, shutters were added to the porch window, and every outdoor light replaced. Two zone air conditioning was added. I had a complete interior remodel of every room, including the kitchen, great room, sunroom, bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets. Every floor updated with tile or wood. All the interior lighting had been replaced. In the great room, a cast stone fireplace surround replaced the existing mantel. The dining room wall had been removed to open the space to the kitchen. In this space, a kitchen island with a sink and additional cabinets were added. Calcutta quartz was installed on the countertops, island and backsplash. The walls between the laundry room, and half bath were removed. The ninety square feet area could accommodate a new bathroom with a large shower. A closet with custom shelves housed the laundry. To increase space in the foyer, a closet was removed. The office changed to a bedroom with a pocket door and a new closet. The foyer's staircase was rebuilt with craftsman posts, square baluster and railings, and black oak flooring. James's attention to detail and craftsmanship was evident in the final product. The staircase was beautiful. The upper bathrooms were gutted and renovated. The foyer and bedrooms updated. James and his son Jim have done an amazing job in the remodeling of my home. The transformation of my house has exceeded my expectations, and I am completely satisfied with the quality of the work. They made my vision a reality. They are intelligent, artistic, committed and fully capable of managing any renovation and remodeling project. I highly recommend Renovations by James Martel to anyone requiring a renovation or a remodel.

  I am so happy I found ******************************* James has so much knowledge and skill it's amazing. And ***** is learning from the best. My first job with them was replacin my leaking shower. All the issues he found associated with that were immediately brought to my attention and corrections explained thoroughly. There is a window in the shower which was always wet and how he framed the area is beautiful. I never realized what a difference that would be but he knew! Next was a new kitchen which is gorgeous. His experience and knowledge were invaluable to me. From the counters and backsplash, to ************** colors, and so many other small details that I had no idea about. They painted my downstairs which needed a LOT of love. They were here everyday, communicated what would happen that day and were in touch with me constantly. I appreciate that they do the job beginning to end - no halfway with these guys. They were very careful to protect my floors, appliances, furniture etc. Like another reviewer said, they treat their jobs like it's their own home. Professional, skilled, personable. Big or small, they give their all. They take pride in their work and that's huge for me. I highly recommend James and ***** for any work you're looking to do. They will guide if needed (like me) and make sure the client is always happy.

  James and ***** have made many renovations over the last two years. My first renovation consisted of replacing front entrance door along with new picture window. Our city inspector commented by saying the door installation was great and done by someone who has pride in his workmanship.At that point, I know who would be doing bigger renovations. James and ***** have completely renovated my kitchen, second bathroom along with new outside deck. Once the job was started, there were no lapse in time. All outside contractors were also on time due the James detail scheduling. The saying "that's good enough" is not in James and ******************* vocabulary. I strongly recommend Renovations by James Martel.

  If you are looking for a professional, dependable & expert contractor look no further than Renovations by James Martel! Jim & his son Jimmy, recently did our very involved kitchen remodel & the results are amazing. Impeccable attention to detail, they both go above & beyond to achieve outstanding results in every phase of their work. Respectful, friendly and on time every single day, we are grateful to have had contractors who treated our home as if it were their own! Thank-you Jim & Jimmy!

  James and his son Jimmy did a woderful job renovating my first floor kitchen and bathroom in North *********. They had to start by replacing rotted plywood sheathing before even getting to the kitchen/bath work. Electrical wiring had to be completely removed and replaced and plumbing had to be rerouted, so it was an extensive renovation. James has a team of subcontractors to handle plumbing, electrical, plaster, and tile. He is a one-stop shop. James was very communicative during the process to ensure he understood what I wanted. He arrived early every morning, and we discussed the work being done that day. I then went to work, returning at day's end to find the job done exactly as we discussed that morning. I plan to have James and Jimmy work on a few more items for me, and I would recommend them to anyone seeking a renovation contractor.

  We were lucky enough to meet James over 20 years ago for a roofing project. Since then he (and now with his son) have done multiple projects for us including two bathroom renovations, painting, widening door openings, installing pocket doors, major window replacements and most recently a complete renovation of two smaller rooms into a spacious master bedroom with large walk-in closet. All of the work was done professionally, on time and always accommodating the needs of our family. On the job daily from start to finish we can certainly provide the highest recommendation! **** and *******************
