Be careful when contracting with Green Company to build a home for you. They begin with glowing promises and lovely photos and a nice "design center". The problems begin when you want to do something different, make some changes, add minimal levels of customization, different flooring, tiles, appliances, lighting, *********. Thats when the problems begin. Their knee-jerk response to anything you ask for, even though you are glad willing to pay extra for everything, is "no". Their project manager **** is an arrogant jerk. He thinks he knows everything and is very disagreeable. Even when proven wrong (which happens time and time again) he still is condescending, and pretends to know it all. Paint, for example, is just a ridiculous issue with them. We wanted to select different colors for various rooms in our home. They provided a list of colors and it was pretty much white, off white, or some shades of grey. We said we would provide the paint, and what difference would it make to their painter what color was on the roller? Same with plumbing for example. They have a limited selection fo faucets for example. We told them we would buy a faucet that we selected (and would buy it from their supplier at our expense) and simply ask they their plumber install it. They said no, so we had to buy the item ourselves, and have our plumber come in the day after we closed, remove the brand new faucet they had installed, and install our selection. This is what it is like dealing with them on just about everything They are just very difficult to deal with. The quality of their construction is generally fine. They build to code, and everything needs to be signed off by local building inspectors. They take lots of shortcuts however in paving, landscaping, and common area expenses in their communities. They will put lovely trees and shrubs and flowers along the front and the visible areas, but then the backyards, perimeters etc are left an ugly mess.
