I paid this company $7242.00 as a 1/3 down payment on September 28, 2023. I was promised a delivery time of complete gutter repair in **** weeks. It is now 18 weeks since I made the 1/3 down payment, and there is STILL NOT EVEN A DATE SET FOR THE *** TO BE DONE. I have emailed and called and have been strung along repeatedly, being told that they will contact me later, or call back in a few weeks, blah, blah, blah. This is an entirely unacceptable way to do business. I told the company that if they don't want the job at this point, February 17, ****, they could give me my money back, but they've agreed instead that they can only call me sometime in March, because of the weather, since apparently they can't work in the winter. Why can't they simply schedule for ****** May, June, July or so on?! Something is wrong with this picture. They could either commit to a date or return the deposit, but stilll only continuing to be strung along with promises of future contact weeks from now does not appear to be a legitimate way to conduct business. I don't know yet the statute of limitations for taking actions considering the September 28, **** contract, but I paid over $7000 five months ago and there's still no scheduling of the job, only a promise again to contact me four weeks from now to...do what? Telllme they'll contact me AGAIN in the future. I tried to be patient but I don't think I'm wrong to be concerned about the legitimacy of this contract and company.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/19/2024

I have reviewed you complaint, and again I apologize for the lack of proper communication on my part. As we discussed over the week end, we do work through the winter, however when weather or site  conditions are not favorable, it can create delays, but again, that should have been communicated to you on a more frequent basis. At this time,  I can put you in for the installation date to be on Monday April 15, ****, and will confirm that date with you the week prior to that. If you prefer a different date or time frame please let me know, or if you do not think that is acceptable, or wish a refund, we will refund your deposit amount in full.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Power

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response.  If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #********. I was given the options by Gutter Pro of a refund or to schedule the gutter repair job for April 15, ****, with a promise to contact me to confirm the April 15, **** date a week prior. I would like Gutter Pro to schedule the job for April 15, ****.

Additionally, I received proof of their contractors insurance when I made the initial deposit in September 2023, but according to those documents, the insurance required renewal on November 12, 2023. I would like Gutter Pro to please also send me the confirmation of renewal of their up-to-date insurance before April 15, ****.

Lastly, I appreciate Mr. ******* apology for the communication issues in scheduling this job. I had confidence in the business until I became concerned about their failure to schedule for such a protracted time.

I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.

    Sincerely,
