4/18/24 I dropped off some coins to be to be authenticated and graduated 2 Spanish coins that I thought were shipwreck coins . The owner called me back a few days later and told me I could come pick the 2 shipwreck coins up they were copies. The 1955 1 ** ***** was shipped off for grading certification, he told me to give him six months. I have been going back-and-forth for the past three months which the boss is usuallynot there so Ive gotten turned around at least six times now ,I finally caught up with him last week2/20/25 He said , oh let me look for it. Come back in a couple days They didnt even grade it, which is a lie cause . I have pictures of it and it wasnt that bad of shape that they wouldnt grade it. I have come back now a week later and he has said he lost the coin .How much do you want for it. I had sent to him like in the beginning. I just want my ***** Im not selling it to you because you couldnt afford it if its a real *****, hes assured me that it was real, but says that they didnt grade it so then I asked today can I have the Paperworkplease? He says no thats gone too. then tries to tell me that it had been altered which he had said nothing about that last week. once again , he offers to buy it from me.He goes. Oh you can go online and see the pennies are auctioned off for a dollar to $20.That was a one-of-a-kind ***** it would be worth a lot more than $20. I looked up 1955 double stamp you will not Ifind 1 g ***** but the 1955 double stamped which mine was a little bit double stamped go for $98,000. and 1 g would make it worth way more than that. Once again, I told him its not for sale. I just want my ***** back at this point. I really dont know what to do. lost the paperwork too. I dont I doubt that. So this is my complaint that Im putting in against his business. I also have pictures of the coin but cant seem to attach them to this so if you email me, I could email you the photos of the coin as well

BBB Complaint # ******** filed on 2/26/2025 by ***** ******. Text to ************. When Ms. ****** came into my store with 3 coins, I advised her that they were all probably copies or modified pieces. As to the 1955 ******* Cent, I told her that it was probably a cut/modified coin. It was definitely NOT a Double Die 1955 ?? see her images. The coin that I took in was not identified in any way as a double die, which is a significantly different coin. The doubling is very obvious, and always noted(see my images) . The difference in value between a 1955 cent and a 1955 double die is considerable. Ms ****** was told when she dropped off the coin that I would have someone look at it, and if it was mint error, we could have it certified. Because of the costs involved, I review any potential coins that are to be submitted for certification with other dealers first. This was done in this situation. The first two pieces were determined to be cast copies of Spanish Shipwreck coins
, with no value. It was our combined experience that confirmed that 1955 cent was probably cut, and also worthless. It was DEFINITELY NOT a double die, nor in our opinion, a mint error. Ms. ****** was called to pick up the coins. This was one of numerous voice messages advising our opinion of no value. There was no response until a few weeks ago. She had abandoned the coin. She is stretching the truth on coming into the store and going back and forth to see me, and saying that she has come in 6 times. After such a long time, I could not find the coin. Even though the coin was abandoned, I offered to compensate her. She refused any compensation. I believe Ms. ****** is trying to blackmail or scam me to pay her for a worthless coin, after such a long period of time. Also see images sent, Ms. ********* coin, 2 images, and one of a 1955 Double die ******* Cent.

First off I left it at his shop because he had told me he needed it for 6 months and like I had said I went in several times and he was not in I left messages with two different women the both said come back on another day . I just wish for my coin back at this point the slip I sent you a copy of said he was supposed to get it authenticated and graded the owner tells me hes lost the coin and the paperwork that came back with a coin. What else can I say?

By her own photo she shows a coin worth less than one cent. By her own words she went at least 6 months before even checking on the coin, 5-6 months after the time she claims she was supposed to pick it up (almost a year after dropping it off). The coin is worth one cent, and was shaved.

The coin was abandoned, and is now gone. If she wants, I am willing to give her another cent.
