1/31/2025 I have arthritis, so I finally opted for a cortisone injection in my right knee. It worked immediately but lasted only 2 months rather than 3. The day after the shot, my feet began to burn. The pain was excruciating and also lasted as long as the corticoid injection. I did my research and do know that no other medication caused this excruciating pain. I could not walk but have to take care of my 98-year-old mom. I did see their foot doctor; she prescribed painkillers which one cost $3,000 and the other one was for $80.00. Certainly, this was a joke! (I did not feel welcomed by this doctor at all. She did not know my age??? However, that doctor thought it was a vascular problem. She had her medical assistant refer me to a vascular doctor, but the referral was never taken as seriously. I had to keep calling the vascular office, but no referral. It took her 2 months to refer me to a vascular doctor because I kept calling. How incompetent! Once the injection wore off, my feet began to heal. They'd felt like I'd walked 100 miles nonstop each day as a 73-year-old woman, I decided to get Gel 1 injection instead. It kicks in after 6 weeks. I could barely walk, but I thought I could live with that and the pain. However, after the shot, there was no end to the pain. ******* does not work, and I cannot take ******, *********, etc. I asked the physician assistant to prescribe me painkillers before I left the office. She said she couldn't; that New England Orthopedics does not prescribe painkillers, and that I'd have to get a prescription from my PCP. I told her that I don't have one. I began to think and to do my research. The foot doctor prescribed pain medication for me although it ended up being a cruel joke. But New England Orthopedics does prescribe painkillers. And I do wonder to whom... ********************************************************** ********************************************************(21)00322-0/fulltext This happens all too often!
