      We booked at room at the inn for a wedding last August that was cancelled. We called to ask what we could do because we came down with COVID-19 before and couldn't stay. During the conversation with the people at the Inn they said just to call back later when the wedding is reschedule and we can book you a room with the credit. We called back a few months ago and they said it was still on. We thought nothing of it and now we called back and apparently they decided to cancel the credit and not tell us. We aren't rich and work hard for our money, not exactly happy that they just took it without any notification or discussion.

      On behalf of the Chocksett Inn we are very sorry that this whole situation took place.  We realize it was not anyone's fault and did the absolute best we could to work with the couple and all of the guests to reschedule the wedding on extremely short notice.  When the bride contacted us just days before the wedding to let us know that the groom had contracted Covid-19 we gave her a list of options.  We made it very clear that because we had a waiting list for rooms at the inn, and they were well within our 14 day cancellation period  that the rooms would NOT be refunded.  She assured us that she would communicate that to all of her guests, most of which came and stayed at the inn the night of the original booking and enjoyed dinner together in the restaurant. We made it very clear to all of the guests that contacted us directly that there were NO REFUNDS and NO EXCEPTIONS to the policy for the rooms, but that they could make a new reservation for the rescheduled event as a new reservation.  All of the guests were charged 14 days prior to the original date and if they chose to book again for the new date they were all charged for that reservation 14 days prior to that date.  We have spoken with the bride and groom and they agree that this was the arrangement that was made and all of the other guests were in agreement as well.  Again, we did the best we could under theses very difficult circumstances to accommodate the couple and all of the guests for this event.  I am sorry that they are not pleased.
