I signed up for a 3-day workshop at Kripalu, called "That is Not Your Mind: A Meditation And Qigong Retreat." However, the workshop was falsely advertised and did not teach qigong, which is included in the title and in the description. The program was listed under "martial arts" and advertised that the "program will ground your meditation and qigong practice." Prior to the workshop, the instructor sent an email asking what percentage of time students wouldlike to spend on each of the following: qigong, meditation, and studying Buddhist scripture. I replied that I was mostly interested in qigongand would like to spend at least 70% of our time on that. The workshop was divided into several parts: Friday evening, Saturday morning, afternoon and evening and Sunday morning. The instructor did not teach any qigong on Friday evening. He taught approximately5-10 minutes of qigongon Saturday morning. He said that he might teach a few more minutes on Sunday morning, at which point I discontinued attending the workshopbecause it did not teach what it promised.I paid $359 for the workshop and $450 for room and meals with $809 in total tuition(receipt attached). I spoke to the front desk and asked them to credit me with $359 so I could attend a true qigong workshop (what I originally signed up for). I was told that the manager will contact me on Monday and will provide me with credit. I never heard from a manager, but I received an email from the registration giving me $80.50 in credit. They did not explain how they derived that number. Since the workshop was falsely advertised and did not teach qigong, I would like credit for the whole workshop and would like Kripalu to issue credit for an additional $278.50.
