I had Fabric Showplace reupholster my sofa. It was picked up on 8/4/22. The total price was $2000, as I purchased the fabric from ******** for nearly $500. The sofa was returned on 8/30/22 and I followed up with **** *****, my point of contact, in an email about problems with the work, including sending photos of the old and new. There were gaps where the cushions met the back of the couch and the center welting was noticeably crooked. There were multiple emails into mid-September (all of which I have) regarding a redo. They picked it up on 9/30/22 to fix things. I provided a fair amount of additional fabric, which I'd intended to repurpose for making a a foot stool. I was without the couch for another 3 weeks and when it was delivered on 10/20/22, the back welting was still crooked, but I decided to live with it because of all the back and forth. When I had friends over for the holidays, one commented on the crookedness of the center welting, at which point I realized that it was noticeable to more than just me.On 12/22/22, I contacted **** ***** requesting a partial refund of $700. The additional fabric they used was worth $100 and I wasn't able to move forward with my foot stool plans because the remnant sizes they returned were too small. Even if they ordered new fabric, there is no guarantee that it would match mine as *********** would be different. On 12/24/22, **** ***** said she couldn't make the decision to refund the money as she was an employee but would forward everything to the owner. On 1/2/23, I offered to have the business owner visit my house to see the sofa, but have never heard from her.On 1/26/23, I asked about the status of my request and didn't hear back. On 3/23/23, **** ***** indicated that she'd passed everything on to the owner, *****. To date, I have had no further communication from either person.
