Techs came for routine maintenance for my gas furnace (baseboard heating) and upon completion, told me that there was a dangerous level of carbon monoxide leakage and they legally had to turn off my furnace. Showed me 2 photos of a reader with 1300 and 1500ish ppm and sent a senior tech out an hour later Senior tech quoted repair price in the $6000 range and a full unit replacement in the $17000 range. Told me it would be dangerous to turn my unit back on. Told them I would think about it and after they left, I noticed that my carbon monoxide detector was still in the room and reset it to test, made a noise indicating that it worked. Didnt want to take any chances, so I went to ********** and bought another monoxide detector that showed the **** came back home and turned on my furnace, made sure it worked and left the new detector on top of the furnace and shut the furnace room door. Waited about 5 minutes and checked in it - 0**** Waited another 10 minutes and checked again. - still 0**** Also got 2 more full unit replacement quotes from my contractors plumber contacts and both were below $10000. You can form your own opinions, Im just stating the facts of what was presented to me during my routine maintenance check. I also went to bed with the new carbon monoxide detector that night.

Winters Home Services is hands down the worst company we have ever worked with in the 13 years we have lived in ****************** April 2023, one of their plumbers had an unfortunate accident while replacing a sink, and Winters Home Services removed our entire custom, double vanity from our children's bathroom. I spent days finding a company that could rebuild an identical custom vanity as a replacement. When I finally did, and sent the owner of Winters Home Services, *** Flynn, the quote for the vanity, he rudely replied that it was "too expensive" and he stopped returning my calls and texts. Unbelievable. This guy lives down the street from my family, in a neighborhood where some of our friends are his neighbors - and this is how he behaved and treated me. As a reminder - his plumber had the accident in our house. I called 911 and took care of the plumber while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. And then on the same day, his company (Winters Home Services), removed our custom vanity, as it could not be salvaged. All we wanted was an equal value replacement vanity. We called a lawyer, as well as our insurance company. Our insurance company reached out to Winters insurance company, and then I finally got a call from their insurance company. They said they had been calling Winters for weeks to settle the replacement vanity claim for us, and Winters wasn't returning their calls. Again, unbelievable. And such bad business practice. We finally got a check from their insurance company to cover the cost of the vanity - 6 months after it was removed. Our kids have been using the guest bathroom for the past 6 months. The new vanity is expected to arrive late December, so in total our kids will be without the vanity for 8 months. I have never written a bad review in my entire life, but I want others to know what kind of business Winters Home Services really is. There are many other excellent plumbing companies in the ******* area. Choose another company!

86 yr old aunt had ******************* install new furnace, condenser and coil for her AC/Heating in September 2021. Went to turn on heat for the first time this week and it would not start. Winters would not do anything because their 1-year warranty was expired! Told us to call the distributor about the warranty on the furnace. (Winters never registered the furnace for warranty!) Our plumber also found they did not replace the gas shutoff which was out of code for 4 years, did not place a bracket on the outside exhaust pipe which needs to be secured to the home, nor did they place a 2 inch to street pipe for the air intake downward. Instead the pipe was facing level to the right so rain got into the system and caused the system to fail because of all the moisture it took in. These are all easy things that should be done when replacing a ************************* The price charged was also too high! Just to replace the condenser and coil they charged $7,146.00. The condenser and coil only cost at the most this year $2,750. That's an awful lot of labor cost of $4,396... I'm not even going to show the cost of the furnace and that labor. Winters ************ took advantage of an 86 year old woman living by herself.
