On Wednesday, 12/11/2024 my furnace stopped working mid-afternoon. The tech that came the next day said it needed a new motherboard, and he would order the part. So, that was Thursday morning 12/12/2024. I didnt hear anything from anybody all day Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, so I called on Monday to see what was the hold-up. I was told that the part was in transit from ******, and it was scheduled to arrive that day, or on Tuesday at the latest, and that somebody would call me when it arrived to arrange to come over and install it. On Tuesday, 12/17/2024 I called to see what was up, and the parts manager said the part was in; Tech came and installed it and all seemed OK. So, two stops at my house, and the part, came to roughly $1000. On 12/27/2024 the furnace died again, the mother board wasnt the issue. Same tech came by on the 27th and his next recommendation was to swap out 2 control boards in the blower motor. He started off saying it might cost $1000, which he upgraded to $1700, then eventually settled on $2700for 2 parts of a blower motor that I had had replaced three years ago at the whopping price of $350, for the whole blower motor! If thats not shady AF I dont know what is. So, I decided then and there that I wouldnt use this company again, and called another company to come out and look at the issue, as the furnace died again that night. The tech at next company I called was flabbergasted when I told him what had transpired up to that date. His jaw hit the floor when he heard the cost of the mother board plus installation, and his eyes bugged out when I told him about the control boards and the pricing quote. He asked me Berkshire? to which I responded right on the first try! Apparently they have a reputation in the local industry. I also heard that same thing from a friend of my sons who also does HVAC, but was unavailable at the time to come check it out for me.

*****, I am sorry about your experience with Berkshire however I would like to clarify a few things. You contacted Berkshire on 12/12/24 and we got a tech out there the same day due to the fact that you had no heat. The tech diagnosed a control board. It was ordered and we booked the repair for 12/17/24. The notes from the tech on that day were "Replaced control board. Tested heat for proper operation. Heat turned on right away without issue. Made sure all connections tight. System heating at this time". The total cost of the repair was $852, not $1000. We are not the least expensive company out there, however we do stand behind our work. Your unit ran from 12/17/24 till 12/28/24 without issue until you called in after hours with a no heat call. The tech was again out to you within an hour. You were not charged any after hours fees or return visit fees at that time. The tech findings were as follows "On arrival found furnace off on motor fault. Reset system and unit ran without issue. Could not replicate motor failure. System ran in both stages without motor issue. Quoted potential repairs If issue happens again. Customer will monitor system and let us know if she wants to proceed with repairs." The tech left an estimate of $1612 and that was to replace the motor and the module. We are a flat rate company so parts and labor are all included in that price. When we left that day the heat was working, however we quoted the repair cost if it happened again. There was no $2700 repair quoted. You decided to reach out to another company, which of course is your decision 100%, but with that being said unfortunately competitors will sometimes not speak well of other companies. As I stated we will not claim to be the least expensive but we stand behind our work 100%. As for the blower motor you replaced 3 years ago, I cannot speak to that because it was not replaced by Berkshire. The unit in your home is also 14 years old and is at the end of it life expectancy, repairs or replacement are to be expected at this time. Once again, I do apologize that you were not happy with your experience however I can assure you that there was nothing shady about the work that was provided.

We purchased a new gas boiler from Berkshire Heating and Air Conditioning, LLC in May 2022, along with a paid 2 year warranty agreement. The boiler was serviced per agreement. in February 2023. The boiler broke down in February,2024. Berkshire Heating sent a serviceman who repaired it. It broke down again 7 days later and we were told we needed a $1700.00. part. We agreed to that and were told Berkshire Heating would call as soon as the part was in. At that point they never offered to come back and try to restart the boiler. So, we, an elderly couple, were left with NO HEAT in the middle of February. We had also purchased a mini split heating and air conditioning system from Berkshire Heating. We tried to heat our home with the units, but they also were not working because when they were serviced (per our paid warranty agreement) in 2023, the serviceman did not check the fluid levels in the outdoor unit. We were told Berkshire is not able to service this issue during the colder months. So, we had to depend on space heaters for heat in February. It is now April and they NEVER called back to tell us the part for the boiler was available or to inquire how we were doing with no heat. In the past few years we have had Berkshire Heating install a mini split system, a new gas boiler, a new water heater and two outdoor water faucets. Two of these systems are now broken. After being loyal customers for many years, we received absolutely no support or concern and our paid warranties and guarantees were never honored in any way.

We tried to contact **************** today once this was received. We ordered the part on 2/14/24 at 12:46pm from our vendor. Unfortunately our vendor dropped the ball and didn't order it. It was our fault 100% that we did not follow up, however typically we call once the part arrives so we can book the repair. Because it never arrived, nothing brought this to our attention. Again, we take full responsibility. Had **************** called to check on the status of the part, we would have caught this sooner. We did try to call today to advise that we would reorder from another vendor and do the repair free of change because of our error, however **************** emailed that he does not want any further contact with us. We were trying to make right by the customer.
