    Last summer Cantara Home Solutions did some work on cottage in Dennisport including shingling 3 sides and adding an outdoor shower.After the work was complete, the exterior and interior latches on the shower door would not lock because the weight of the door was too heavy. Cantara home solutions did come back and adjusted the placement of the latches.When re-opening the cottage this Spring, the shower door had slanted even further such that the door hits against the door frame and does not close properly.We have attempted to contact the owner of the business, throughout the Spring and Summer via voicemail and text in order to resolve the root cause of the issue which is the weight of the shower door being too heavy. Unfortunately we have have not received a single response from the owner. The desired resolution we are seeking is for the door to be replaced with a lighter version, or a 40% refund for the work related to the outdoor shower so that we can hire another contractor to make the repair.

    I understand that there is an issue with the latch again and quite frankly it should be a minor thing for a homeowner to tackle if needed adjusting...  similar to kitchen cabinet doors etc.  I received numerous texts days/nights/weekends from the owners... but no phone calls asking me to come over , again and tackle the issue.  Being that the shower was installed about 8 months prior I didn't feel that it was my obligation to come back over.   There was no warranty put together on this project .  And I did come back once to make adjustment and they were satisfied with the result of the adjustment ...As a matter of fact after second visit they asked me if I would build one for their mother's cottage......   That being said , I would still be willing to pay back a smaller percentage than what the owners are looking for just to stop the texts and now BBB involvement ...

    $1500  -  total charged  for shower project phase

        - $400  demo / debris remove

        - $500  platform and posts installed

        -  $600 shower walls and gate  ......   40 percent of what they are looking for this phase of the project  which is $240 (two hundred and forty dollars)

    Bottom line -  I would be willing to send them a check for $240

    We are disappointed with the response from the business owner as it appears they have not clearly understood the nature of the complaint filed with BBB.

    As explained and illustrated in the original complaint, the root cause of the issue is with the outdoor shower door being too heavy. Adjusting the latch does not solve the issue because the door, which continued to sag over the fall and winter months, does not enter the door frame. This is not a "minor" fix which is why we have been trying to get the business owner to back up their workmanship.

    We are disappointed that the business owner chose not to resolve this issue by fixing the shower door themselves. The amount offered by the business owner is most likely not enough to cover the costs to hire another contractor to repair the door. However, in order to end this dispute we will accept the business owner's offer of $240.
