BUYER BEWARE - I gave them another try last year when they called and offered me a one year subscription for $2 a week paid in full now. My subscription started on Aug 14. About 6 weeks later, I got an email saying that they couldn't afford to deliver at that price and would be helping themselves to .10 a day more deducted from my account. (Do the math - this would cut about 4 months off my "one-year" subscription). I called and fought with them and finally got them to agree to keep their end of the bargain as is - which they did up until a month or two ago when they decided to once again help themselves to my account which I found out about via the bill they sent me for renewal stating that my current subscription expires on July 12. I tried calling again to no avail. The bill did, however, contain information that was NOT disclosed in the phone call I signed up under last year that basically says they can sell you a subscription and then help themselves to your account whenever they want, for as much as they want, in addition to the other things they'll hit you up for unless you call and opt out and that you can't cancel and get a refund if you object. UNBELIEVABLY they STILL give the renewal price of a one year subscription as $104 ( but at least the paper contains the "small print" that tells you how they're going to take MUCH more once they have your money !) Granted, the newspaper business is in serious trouble but HORRIBLE business practices like this are NOT going to save it. It's pretty simple, if you can't DELIVER on your promises then do yourself and your customers a favor and DON'T MAKE THE OFFER - can't believe they've survived THIS long with such DISGUSTING "customer service" but then again, their customers are predominately the elderly - SHAMEFUL! P.S. the ONE star is only because the carrier does his job well - the company gets ZERO from me!
