    My car was diagnosed as needing a new/rebuilt transmission. I had brought it to **************** but I couldn't afford their price.I then brought it to a trusted mechanic in ************* who said he refers all his clients who need a transmission to AAMCO in Wilmington.So, I had it brought there. I have a record of a call from them asking me about my alarm not shutting off and the lights blinking. They said it needed a new battery. I was at work and said go ahead. Now they are the mechanics so you think they would know why that was happening.Then, I was told that the car wasn't starting or doing anything.I then had it towed to another mechanic in ************* who showed me the fuse box and other damage.Whoever had put the battery in had switched the cables so it went in wrong and blew all of my fuses and I am left without any electrical functions.I had the transmission replaced,but I was charged over $280 for the battery and over **** to diagnose and fix (what he could), this was a In *************.I seek reimbursement from AAMCO in the amount of $2000.I have ************** stamps.Also I know it is a franchise and I know that their technicians do not have to go through any particular training so I was very distressed when I was told they didn't do it it wasn't their fault.

    *********************** had her car towed in on 10/12/23. Yes, if was referred from another shop like most of our customers. What she failed to mention, was that the car was jumped by the *** tow driver prior to it being dropped off In our lot. When we received the vehicle, which was completely dead, we recommended starting with a battery so we can get the car up and running before we moved further into diagnosing the transmission. We replaced the battery and now the car runs but with several codes and a behavior which is not indicative of a transmission issue. We advised the customer we didn't believe it was a transmission issue and would require further electrical diagnoses for engine related electrical issues. We recommended taking it to a dealer or electrical specialist. She tows it to another shop and she allowed them to convince her the battery was connected backwards. We have it on video camera the car was jumped backwards on the tow truck. I will not allow our business to be misrepresented or blamed for someone else's mistake. I explained this several times to ******************* and all the people she had call our shop on her behalf. Also we never charged a diagnostic fee, she was only charged for the battery and that was it.
