2024 Complete FALSE sense of security! In 2023, I paid for a chip for my new puppy, *****. Pet Link chip turned out to be completely worthless! I will never use this company for my pet when he finally returns. I mean this process has been stressful , the customer service representatives Do not CARE about your pets being returned back to you. They transyh back to me after someone attempted to register my animal with them and was successfully registered due to me not registering the chip after purchasing my pet. They have only 2 main people on a management level which is a ******** and ****. Which both act like they are not concerned with anything other than a pay check. I just want my pet back home. Please

We do not require proof of ownership to register an unregistered microchip in our database.

Once it came to our attention that this pet was missing and had been registered to someone other than the person who purchased the pet we asked the person who purchased the pet to provide documentation that they were the owner. Once the document was provided we transferred the pet to the person who provided the bill of sale while waiving the onetime transfer fee as a courtesy, locked their account and suggested that they also file a lost pet report in our database.

We assisted the owner as best we could given our privacy policies and not being able to provide them the information of the person who had registered their pet's microchip. We had advised them that if they had filed a police report we would be able to provide the officer handling their case with the information on who had registered the pet.

It has been brought to our knowledge that this matter has been resolved between the two parites involved.

I adopted a dog from a rescue place. They chipped the dog. I uploaded the required papers to their site, they charged me all over additional 25 dollars to transfer ownership. Then I was denied because the papers had name of rescue. You can't reach a live human. This would not of been my choice

The transfer request was reviewed again and we can confirm we did in fact receive valid proof of ownership documentation and the transfer request has been processed accordingly, as a courtesy for our oversight we have refunded the $24.99 transfer fee.

Complete FALSE sense of security! In 2012, I paid for a chip for my new puppy, *****. The vet I was going to used Pet Link. I registered my dog immediately on Pet Link's website and had print outs of her registration number in various places for instant access. I made sure to update her description on Pet Link as she grew and her coloring changed as well as updating phone numbers/addresses, etc. as time went on. During ******* entire 11-year life, I felt confident that she was chipped and should she ever get lost and her collar/tags with my info fell off, she was registered which increased the chances that we would be reunited. Fast forward to 2023. After ***** had to be euthanized, I went to the Pet Link website to remove her and lo and behold there was NO RECORD of her ever having been registered!!! Her Pet Link registration number didn't exist and no account appeared for me/her. I know the vet's office didn't remove her so why was she not registered? At which point did Pet Link decide to remove my dog from their website?Thank God she was never lost because the Pet Link chip turned out to be completely worthless! I will never use this company for my animals ever again.

      Microchips do not come pre-registered.

Some facilities will register the microchip on behalf of the owner, however, it is ultimately up to the owner to register their pet's microchip or ensure that it has been registered.

If we are contacted about a pet who has an unregistered microchip and the microchip was manufactured by PetLink we are able to see the information on who the microchip was sold to.

There is also the possibility that the microchip was registered with another registration database.

I ordered a special collar for my dog. It cost more than others but it was reflective and had my dogs microchip number on it. One month later, no collar. I emailed them and asked what was taking so long. They said theyd get back to me. Another month goes by. I emailed them again and asked if they were for real. They said they would get back to me. Then I got an email canceling my order and saying they were all out of them. They would refund my money. What kind of way is this to run a business? Dont use their shopping business

I got my cat from the shelter, and Petlink emailed for $20USD for renewal. Then the shelter also asked for renewal for $20CAD . I got scammed by this petlink as they hacked the emails pretending theyre the shelter.

Registration fees vary depending on the type of microchip purchased by your vet or animal shelter/rescue.  In order to complete your pets lifetime registration with PetLink, there may be no charge, a onetime registration fee of $29.95 or a onetime upgrade fee of $24.95.

Microchips that are manufactured by other companies require a onetime registration fee of $29.95.

(Our prices increased on 3/1/24, any registration done before that date will be charged the previous fee)

Your pet's first year of Premium Lifetime registration was covered until 8/10/23, there was a onetime fee of $19.95 to upgrade to remain registered Premium Lifetime registration.

Any fees asked for or collected by the shelter are separate from any fees we charge.

PetLink has some of the worst customer service reps I have ever spoke with. As an employee of an animal shelter, we frequently need to call microchip companies to reunite pets and their parents. I'm almost always immediately met with an attitude by the person who answers the call before even saying anything. Its as if we are bothering them by asking questions. They have the rudest demeanors no matter who it is you speak with. Rarely am I ever greeted by a person who doesn't seem nasty. Anytime I see that a chip is registered through petlink, I dread calling them. If I could give zero stars I would.

The tag I bought for my dog's collar has fallen apart after only 5 weeks and they wont honor the one year warranty stated on their website. It has taken me two weeks to even get a response to my message.

      Date: 04/09/2024

Hi, We do apologize for the extended length it took to respond back to you. It shouldn't have taken so long.

As stated in the email that was returned to you our FAQ section and the product page for product ordered that the one year warranty does not apply to this product. Unfortunately, the vendor for this product doesn't do a warranty on their products. We do offer other products that have a warranty, you just need to pay attention to the product page.

All I want to do is get my pets registered on the website. Their website kept giving me issues and saying I had to pay. When I contacted their customer support they said I shouldn't have to pay. They refused to help me over the phone, said I was on the wrong website even though I was typing in the website from the pamphlet the vet gave me, and eventually hung up on me when I asked file a formal complaint.

We apologize for the poor experience you had with our support team by phone. We have listened to the call and coached the agent on how they should handle these types of calls.

I rescued a GSD that is chipped with this company. The original human in her life and I have tried to get her transferred to my contact information. First: the chip industry is dysfunctional in our situation. Don't rescue an animal that has been chipped and registered without documentation from the registry company the transfer happened. Finally, Petlink can't answer your challenges Professionally over the phone. I provided them with her Veterinarian record but it wasn't good enough. Petlink will take your money. This is my 7th GSD. Thanks Petlink, I'll never adopt another animal that has been chipped. Oh yeah, my GSD partner and I will look over our shoulder or I'll get the chip removed.

We are willing to process the transfer of the pet to the new owner, however, the new owner is refusing to abide by our policies.

C*** I paid $30.00for the chip at vet. I sent $15.99 for registration. Now I am being told our dog isn't registered and they want another $19.99 a year. I wouldn't do business with people like this and wish I would have checked reviews before doing business with them
