1 starWe are requesting a refund due to Premier Veterinary Hospital *************** ( founded by ETHOS) not providing proper services to help our pets survive and live. Instead, this animal hospital who supposed to be emergency care was focus on payment before providing care. For that reason, we are asking for a refund. Our family dog was there for hours without given the care he needed to survive. We offered to give $ 4000 but the refused and told us we must pay the full $8000. I noticed after the tragic incident, the veterinarian tried to change it to $6K-8K, which the medical statement clearly stated $8k or more. You have the worst Veterinarian and medical technician at that location. We were not informed ahead of time when set an appointment that this would happen. Your staff clearly waited until we got there and had us waiting. We could have went somewhere else, that really would have helped us and our dog could have been still alive today. Im still mourning deeply and we notified your staff we just lost a close relative a month before but they didnt care. I seen so many reviews on their website and here on this one , with so many people that are mourning and grieving from the loss of their pets; including myself and family due to your organization. Its very sad and not acceptable. Respectfully,******** *. complaint #********Review fromKatina McNulty

took my almost 2 year old dog in at almost midnight! I informed the vet that he had pneumonia. He was fine that morning but by the time we returned from work he was struggling to breathe and was extremely lethargic. I was advised that he needed blood tests and x-rays to prove that he had pneumonia. I begged them to just treat him for pneumonia but they refused without the tests. The were so focused on their prices for service instead of saving my baby! I agreed to the x-rays and blood tests to the sum of almost $1000. Only for them to come back and say, yes he has pneumonia and it would cost an additional $2500 to treat him inpatient! I was then informed that he would need I V treatment, antibiotics, pain meds and oxygen, which he Wailuku have to be admitted for them to administer to him. I didnt have the additional $2500. So, instead of caring that my dog was in need of EMERGENCY CARE. They focused on selling services that I didnt need. If they would have given him oxygen, IV and antibiotics instead of running expensive test I would have been able to save my dog. Instead, since I didnt have and additional $2500 on top of the $1000 that I had already paid, 4 hours later they sent him home and gave me 10 days worth of antibiotic pills.. 2 days later he died! I understand that its a business just like any other business but I thought they would care more about saving his life instead of their bottom line!!!UNLESS YOU HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO PAY TO HELP YOUR PET PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! They only care about money! Not the animals that they serve! I GUESS THERE IS NO HIPOCRATIC OATH FOR ANIMALS!Ethos Veterinary Health, LLC

Your company may care about animals but Premier Veterinary Group does not! My issue has absolutely nothing to do with my financial constraints especially pertaining to my sweet boy! My issues are the services not rendered ! Trained professionals that see various cases everyday does not need a test to identify symptoms especially obvious ones. Caring professionals would treat what they know needs to be treated especially life saving measures! If my dog needed to be treated as an inpatient for IV fluids, antibiotics, pain meds and fever reducing medication why didnt I receive those same medications when I said I couldnt pay for the inpatient! Bigger than that if he needed all of that and your HOSPITAL cared so much why didnt they save his life and bill me! You know like hospitals do! Or, he was too far to save and you were selling services that wouldnt have worked anyway and he still would have died! Because he was gone a little over 24 hours later! All Im saying is you are in business for business and I understand that but stop pretending to care about animals, their owners and anything else except your bottom line!Ethos Veterinary Health, LLC

We are truly sorry for your loss and for the frustration youve experienced. As an emergency hospital we are unable to provide care with deferred billing. We do offer financing options through CareCredit and ScratchPay to help make treatments more accessible. We understand this doesnt ease the pain of losing your beloved dog, but we appreciate you sharing your concerns and your perspective. Our deepest sympathies are with you.Review fromNebula Z

1 starMy experience with Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital has been nothing short of alarming and deeply disappointing. Dr. *** *****, currently employed at this hospital, was previously known as Dr. ******* ***** during her time at ************ Hospital in *********. She was responsible for the botched spay surgery of my beloved cat, Nebula, which led to her tragic death. While ***** may be a preferred variation of her name, the change raises questions given her history of negligence and lack of accountability. ************** incompetence in performing a routine spay surgery, gross negligence, and lack of professionalism caused irreversible harm to Nebula, who was only 1 year and 8 months old! Whats even more disturbing is her complete lack of accountability, empathy, and communication throughout the ordeal. Instead of taking responsibility, she avoided answering for her actions by conveniently dropping her Minnesota license and moving to ********. It is deeply alarming and shocking that she could evade accountability by exploiting a legal loophole.I raised my concerns with the management team at Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital, including Mr. ***** (******) ******** and Dr. ******** ******, and followed up multiple times over several months. To date, I have received no response from them, not even an acknowledgment of my inquiries. This silence speaks volumes about the hospitals lack of transparency and willingness to protect someone like Dr. *** *****, despite the serious concerns raised. This issue is bigger than my personal loss. Its about public safety and trust in the veterinary profession. ************** actions and the hospitals refusal to address these concerns are deeply troubling. If you value your pets health and well-being, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. A hospital that employs someone like Dr. *** ***** and refuses to address these concerns should not be trusted with the care of your beloved pets.Review fromTimothy L

2 stars?I believe I have been injured by a case of veterinary malpractice .My puppy had an avulsion fracture on a hind leg knee joint. 5 month old, "*****" was hobbling around on 3 legs After the weekend I took her to WVRC in ******* for X-ray.After diagnosis, it was decided that surgery would be necessary. Then the nurse said she felt a sling was necessary but I disagreed because ***** could only lay around and wasn't active. But the nurse convinced me that this was necessary, and immediately so, and I said I wanted to do the right thing. ***** was in a good mood as I walked to the back and the nurse took her to the back room.Upon receiving ***** after, she was sedated yet uncomfortable, could not walk due to the splint holding rear leg in extended position.I got ***** home and as anesthesia wore off, she started crying and whimpering more urgently by the minute.I started to look at how the splint was positioned and noticed it was taped to the fur on her leg and soft underbelly and also foot and close to pubic region. With the skin being pulled by the hair, she was in discomfort without moving but movement increased pain noticeably. The hypocratic oath instructs first, do no harm..I was forced to gingerly cut away the hair on leg and belly to relieve my injured puppy from pain caused by tape applied to stop the leg splint from slipping off.I think the dog could have been wearing a sling to hold a splint in place, or someing other than tape stretched painfully across a non injured ******** every time I look into.y puppy's soft eyes, I recall her yelping in pain. I feel the puppy is looking at me to be responsible for a portion of pain and I am because I agreed to let them splint her not knowing they would do such a horrible job at it.Review fromKris R

1 starI brought my dog in because he was having difficulty breathing. The front desk told me it would be 4 hours before he could be seen.. I went out to the car to tell my husband that it would take that long. A technician came out and said that she could put ******* in an oxygen kennel and the doctor would quick look at him before the procedure. The doctor met us in a room about 15 mins later. She wanted to do xrays and blood test. We agreed to the xrays to see what we were up against before putting him through blood test. In the meantime we had your staff shoving papers with costs of treatment in our faces. We were worried about ******* and had to endure your staff being worried about being paid! Finally the doctor came back in and we were faced with terrible news. ******** lungs were filled with cancer! We could see on the xray all of the cancer in his lungs. We were barely allowed to process this information before the doctor suggested Euthanasia! Next thing we know the technician is back in the room telling us the prices of killing our dog! There was no compassion in anyone of your staff. I asked to have ******* brought to the room. The doctor was right behind ******* waiting to inject him.I just hugged him and cried. She injected ******* and he was gone. We left Bentley in your care to be cremated. When we first came into your office we noticed a candle on the desk that said something about if it were lit that someone was saying goodbye to their pet. Well, we also noticed that this candle was never lit for *******. We paid the bill and left. I could not get out of there soon enough. In the end our bill was over $1,000 and we had to leave there without our *******! There were two charges that equaled $288.19 that were not authorized by us. These should be credited to us.Losing Bentley that day, June 17th was devastating to us. Your staff made a bad day worse. Just a suggestion, If you want to work in this field, grow some compassion.Review fromJody H

1 starOur ******* was exhibiting concerning symptoms on a Saturday when our regular vet was not open. We took him to the ******** Walk in clinic and they preformed triage and an x-ray. The **ray showed a lot of gas build up throughout his GI track and the vet said it could have been "bloat" or GDV that twisted back, or we could have caught it before the stomach twisted. She decompressed his stomach and put him on meds in an effort to get us through until Monday for our vet. Unfortunately, he developed the same symptoms on Sunday night and I had to go to WVRC (Owned by Ethos). When we got to WVRC, they immediately took him back and put me in an exam room. Within about 5 to 8 minutes, the attending vet was in the room with me. She said that his condition would need immediate surgery for GDV or twisted stomach and she went through the costs. I asked her, "So it IS twisted stomach?" and she said, "Yes." She said the procedure was going to cost us $10,600. When I questioned the price, the vet said, "I am sorry, but I don't set the rates." My wife and I consulted and I told the vet that there was no way we could afford it so we would sadly have to euthanize our loved dog. At that point, she said that there was something else they could do for cheaper since he is not an old dog and a good candidate. It was called gastric lavage for only $3800. My wife and I chose that option in an effort to get him to our vet. The next day, it cost us $4006. When we took him to our vet, he said there was no sign of GDV in any x-ray he took or the other facilities. Something was going on with his GI track but it was not GDV. Fortunately whatever was messing with his GI track passed or healed within four days. However, WVRC has very shady practices and extortionist rates. We almost put down our healthy 6 year old ******* for their false claims of GDV because a unnecessary operation was going to cost us $10,600. Avoid if you can, especially if you love your animals alive.Review fromJessica M

1 starI would select no stars if that were a valid option to choose. Since it's not, I have given this business the lowest ranking possible.Strongly strongly strongly urge and discourage anyone from using a **** clinic. The ******** clinic office staff is beyond unprofessional and they acknowledge broken processes but have carried on bad practices and have not fixed them or made the slightest of attempts with me or subsequent clients at their clinic. In short, they are crooks who inaccurately and knowingly misbill and move forward with treatments and services without consent. I did acquired logs from **** that are/were blatant misrepresentations of what actually transpired during my animals time at ****. Unfortunately for ****, our conversations were recorded given it was a high stress time and do show the false narrative they attempt to portray in their notes and how they do not accurately reflect what actually took place when you listen to the recordings of the communications with the doctors and Office (Emergency Services) Manager. If you have had poor experience here, and it relates to the care of a veterinarian, please read up on how to handle and what resources are available to assist you. One option of recourse is to report complaints to the Veterinary Examining Board. There are a couple good vets at the clinic but the bad at this facility strongly outweighs the good. You would receive far better customer service, compassion, and care for you and your furry friend elsewhere. I strongly urge consumers to seek another emergency care facility for their pets and avoid using **** at all costs!Review fromNicole M

1 starDo not bring your dog here. Money wasnt the problem. It was lack Of communication, lack of knowledge on what to do for my dog! We were treated like Covid 2020. Waited outside to see our dog, only to find out she started bleeding and they didnt know how to stop it. We never saw our dog the time she was there or was able To say goodbye. We were advised not to see her Because the amount of blood. Why couldnt they clean her up? Wrap her in a blanket? We still have so many unanswered questions.Review fromAnita H

1 starDONT BRING YOUR BELOVED PETS HERE! Brought my puppy in 12/25 early evening. Had to wait outside with my sick puppy over an hour before vet finally saw him. The vet took my puppy in the back after I explained that I believed he had something stuck in his throat. He was so sick vomiting all day I felt he was in dire emergency situation crying In pain also. After my puppy was taken in back the vet came out and went over bill which would be over $1,200. After a few hours I finally convinced my mom to put on her credit card but if the could break up payments into 3xs was told "No" and was told to apply for a scratch pay loan to which I explained I was unemployed. My mom allowed me to apply for loan under her name but used my email address since I didn't have access to my moms email. ******* pay then stated since email didn't match loan name they would require me to phone them. I was tired and stressed beyond words about my baby boy and this was making situation more stressful. So I asked how my ****** was doing since hrs passed and hadn't heard a word yet only then did receptionist state that I had to pay $1200 BEFORE ANY WORK UP WOULD BE DONE ON ******. I THEN VERY VERY UPSET NO TREATMENT WAS ADMINISTERED I ask for my dog back and would take him elsewhere. I had to pay over $300 just to take my boy and leave. THIS PLACE PUT MONEY BEFORE MY DOGS HEALTH AND WELL BEING. THEY REFUSED TO CARE FOR HIM KNOWING HE WAS CRYING IN PAIN AND CONSTANT VOMITING ALL DAY. I WILL NEVER EVER BRING MY ANIMAL NEAR HERE. THESE PEOPLE ONLY CONCERN WAS MONEY AS THEY KEPT BADGERING ME TO COME UP WITH $1200. I WAS ALREADY UPSET AND DIDN'T REMBER TO BRING MY GLASSES SO HAD DIFICULTY WITH APPLICATION FOR SCRATCH LOAN TOLD RECEPTIONIST I FORGOT MY GLASSES IF SHE COULD HELP ME WAS NOT HELPED AND COULD BARELY SEE. I STARTED FEELING SICK FROM STRESS AND WAS DEVELOPING A MIGRAINE FROM NOT EATING ALL DAY AND BEING STRESSED AND TRYING TO SEE FORM APPLICATION I WAS BECOMING MORE AND MORE ANGRY.Review fromPAULA L.

1 starI brought my dog to **** *****************, ** for help w/my Yorkie-Poo Mink.It was Monday 9/26/22 at 12:45am.I told them at that time it now was over 24hrs she was very sick. Something was blocking her throat or stuck in her stomach. She would only drink water. After doing so in a few mins she would throw it up. She was having a hard time breathing belly was quivering all over & so weak she could hardly stand. When I brought her in she was the only animal there. Vet took her from me right away.About 20mins later a couple brought a dog in. After sitting 1hr the couple ************** ask the girl who checked them out what is going on w/my dog. She said Your dog is not dying & that they take care of the ones first who are. I ask how do you know she is not if you havent did anything for her? She claimed they did an ultra sound.I asked what did it show. She said the vet would have to tell ******* was busy stabilizing other dog. Again she said & INSISTED my dog was NOT dying & it would be at Least another 45min. She was very Smart Mouthed NOT compassionate at all.She said to me my dog was Not dying yet could not tell me anything else accept that **** had to wait. I waited 15mins more & made them give my dog Mink back to me & left as I no longer had ANY Confidence that they knew what they were doing or how to do it. You could clearly see & hear my dog was in pain & struggling for every breath. They refused to care for my dog first, not to mention did nothing much during the time she was the only dog that they had there to care for. Obviously, this facility does NOT KNOW what they are doing as she did die. Who are they to pick & choose who will live & who will not. Especially when 1 animal was there well ahead of the other one & NEEDED IMMEDIATE CARE.My dog did die a few minutes after arrival at her vet, shortly after 8am the SAME morning. She was my life. This ER facility should be stopped so as not to cause another ************** beloved pet an unnecessary death and heart ache
