I walked into a nail salon today that I had visited with my disabled daughter in the past and was told that she could not be seen. The female worker asked if she was able to come out of her wheelchair and sit in the company's chair. I said yes she's been here before. She said I'm not sure about that. I then pointed to male worker who did my nails a month ago and said can you ask him. She spoke to him in another language and he said I'm busy very rudely. Also when I was there a month ago by myself I showed the male worker a picture of my daughter and asked if I could bring her in and he said yes then. Today the salon was not busy at all. No one was in the nail chairs and only 2 people were getting pedicures. Their website says they service children

When the person showed us their child, we didn't think they had a disability. When the customer and their child arrived, we weren't able to perform on their nails because the child was lying down on a chair and their arms was in a position that we couldn't perform within our quality standard. An example would be that in order to do nails with gel, the hands would have to be on the table, so the UV light can work the gel. Our employees are all foreign which can cause many language barriers and could make them sound condescending and possibly rude. We try to improve and lessen the barrier, but it's difficult to learn a new language when you're older. Our website did state that we can serve children, however we never mentioned that we can guaranteed to do children, especially if there is an issue from the child that can prevent us from being able to perform. We are sorry to the customer and their child for not being able to fulfill the request and apologies that our website statement could misled them.
