Credit card statement 02/12 SQ *STRAIGHT PLUMBING LLC ABINGDON MD 500.00 02/19 SQ *STRAIGHT PLUMBING LLC ******************** We hired *** from Straight plumbing, to repair our K2 boiler. On February 12th, at approximately 2:00 PM, he arrived and informed us that he needed to drain the water from the boiler to diagnose the issue. However, before even inspecting the unit, he stated that the problem was our fault. The initial diagnosis took only 15 minutes, yet he charged us a $500 deposit. He then ordered the necessary replacement part under warranty, which cost $250 and took a week to arrive.During that week, we were left without proper heating, enduring outdoor temperatures of 25F and indoor temperatures of 45F. When the part finally arrived, *** returned on February 19th at around 9:00 AM and completed the repair by approximately 1:00 PM. He mentioned that the K2 boiler was relatively clean, with only minor dust accumulation. He took the deposit and charged us an additional $250. *** said he would give us the $250 back when he gets reimbursed for the part.Later that evening, at 6:40 PM, I contacted *** via text, attaching a video that captured a popping sound coming from the furnace. He responded that he was unsure of the issue but would come over to inspect it. The next day, at 5:30 PM, he sent a text stating, Im still hung up on this one, **** I replied with OK.On March 15th, at 3:09 PM, I sent another text inquiring when he would come to address the issue, but he did not respond. The following day, March 16th, at approximately 12:30 PM, I called and left a voicemail, but he never returned my call, texted, or followed up in any way.Despite the multiple charges incurred, we never received an invoice for the services provided, nor did we receive the promised $250 reimbursement for the part. I can not find ***** last name on his website nor ***************** address: *******************************

      Customer Answer

      Date: 03/18/2025

On March 18, 2025, at 3:59 PM, *** from Straight Plumbing called me and stated his intent to take legal action. He asserted that my statements were entirely inaccurate and suggested that he should have billed me at a higher price. Additionally, he mentioned that he would contact the manufacturer of my boilers parts to prevent them from doing business with me in the future. He also accused me of targeting his business and misrepresenting him personally. During the call, he informed me that the previously quoted $250 part would now be $500 and then asked how much money I wanted him to send. I understood this as an attempt to shift focus away from the matter at hand. Before I could respond, he made a disparaging remark about my intelligence and abruptly ended the call.

At 5:06 PM, I sent him a text message requesting:

      1. A receipt for the part

      2. Reimbursement for the part warranty

      3. A full invoice for his service

I also informed him that once these items were received, I would notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that the issue had been resolved.

*** responded immediately via text, explaining that the parts cost $487, which he covered upfront, and that he encountered issues with warranty availability and shipping delays. He detailed the work performed, including diagnosing the boiler with ******* tech support, ordering and installing the necessary parts, and servicing the boiler.

I then replied via text, thanking him for his response and reiterating my request for the three documents, asking him to send them to ********************************.

Following this exchange, *** called again, stating that he was done discussing the matter and had submitted all our text messages to the BBB. My wife and I requested an invoice six times, and he claimed to have sent it to my emaildespite never receiving my email address from me. He later stated that he would email me directly, but I have yet to receive anything.

The point I was making about a week without hot water and heat is that he kept repeatedly reminding us that it was entirely our fault.

Attached are the text message records for reference.
