Rehab recheck fee charged. I was not told that a reassessment was an additional $105 charge on top of the traditional rehab fee even though the time of the appointment was the same. There was no information given as to what is involved in a recheck or why.

      Hello,

If the rehabilitation therapist does a re-evaluation which includes a physical of the patient,  then we do charge a recheck fee.

I paid CVSS nearly $5000 to operate on my dog. Dr Moore gave me a price of $4400- $4500. I asked 'what does that include'? Dr Moore told me 'We do this everyday and we know what's involved what's needed to follow up, so includes the medications to take home, x-rays, sling if needed, etc... it is 'all inclusive' she said. They told me to keep my dog sedated for 6 weeks so she doesn't try to walk on her leg, but they only gave me 8 pills, which is just over 1 weeks worth. I called and said 'Hey I need more medicine to keep her sedated' they said 'OK come in and get another prescription'. When I did, the nurse charge me $18 which I said no that is supposed to be included she said no it's not it's ok I'm going to pay the $18 but please have the doctor call me to discuss because she told me that the price I paid was all inclusive. The doctor never called. 6 weeks later I go for a routine follow up which is expected to be the final visit and a planned X-ray is done. Upon leaving the nurse again tells me I have a bill this time of $252. I said no that is included because it's part of the process it was planned she said nope you signed the agreement saying it's not included I said wait a minute this is b*******, I said I am very frustrated this happened with the medication that was also supposed to have been included if it's not all inclusive the doctor should not use the phrase all inclusive. I said then as to not make a scene because I am very frustrated I am going to go out to my car and call the doctor. I did that I walked to my car right in the front parking lot so 30 seconds after leaving the building I called and asked for the doctor they put me on hold for 8 and a 1/2 minutes just to come back and tell me that the doctor is gone for the day but she will return my call in the morning. In the morning I did not get a phone call I got a letter of termination of professional services. I don't see how this is legal my dog has not even been released from care.

The client signed consent and estimate forms that stated the estimate was for that surgery only and did not cover any future appointments, medications, follow up x-rays, recheck appointments, etc. It was also stated on the discharge instructions that there would be an additional charge at the 6 week revaluation with radiographs.

The client was upset that he had to pay for additional medications that he needed to keep his pet calm after surgery, AFTER the pet had been discharged from our hospital. We had sent home 2 different pain medications (one should have lasted 7 days, the other should have lasted 10 days), along with another medication (should have lasted 30 days) to help keep his pet calm (which was all included in the cost). These were all sent home at the time of discharge on 7/9/22.

When Mr. came in to pick up a refill of the medication to help keep his pet calm on 8/6/22 (28 days after pet was discharged) and he acted in the following manner; "when he was told the balance for the medication was $16, he then started yelling in the lobby "I am not f**king paying, the Dr. said everything was included in the cost this is bullsh*t". He then stormed over to the main doors to go get his wallet he slammed into the doors aggressively shoving them open. His behavior made other practices’ CSR's put their current phone calls on hold and they looked at me and stated "this is unacceptable". The owner then came back in and kept stating that it is bullsh*t that he has to continue to pay more money, he then snatched the medication back and stormed out saying "this is bullsh*t."

On 9/1/22 Mr. brought his pet in for recheck radiographs and when he went to the front to get checked out the CSR informed him of the cost. The owner than preceded to state "this is bull*hit, the dr told him that everything is included." He kept swearing at in front of a lobby full of clients, threw his card at her, kept yelling that he was going to leave a bad review on all websites. Kept saying "Can you hurry up, because I need to get out of here before I do something bad." Then when he was walking out of the building punched/aggressively hit the front door. Then he was making a scene in the parking lot.
Excerpt from the consent form that was signed by the client.... I understand that the estimate is inclusive for this VISIT ONLY, it does not include future radiographs, bandage changes, additional medications, or future procedures.
Excerpt from the discharge instructions (page 2)
Recheck appointments Schedule an appointment with Dr. M**** in 2 weeks for an incision check and in 8 weeks for radiographs. Please schedule your recheck appointments in advance, as appointment times tend to fill 1-2 weeks before the appointment date. If your appointment is for radiographs (x-rays) or blood work, please do not give any food/treats to Lucy after 10pm the night before. Water is ok. Please remember follow-up procedures such as radiographs, sedation, and blood work are not included in the previously quoted surgery fee.
Due to his lack of respect of our team members, foul language and his aggressive behavior we decided that it was best to terminate the professional relationship.
