attempted to file for an EIN with the *** and was shocked by what I encountered. When I Googled EIN filing, the first result was **************** (***********************************************************). The websites name, design, and use of the US flag made it appear to be an official government site. Trusting its familiar look, I began the application process only to discover a fee of $249 for an EINa service that the *** offers free of charge.There was no clear indication upfront that this service was paid. The only disclaimer about the fee was hidden in small print in the footerhardly noticeable unless youre specifically looking for it. Furthermore, the Q&A section addresses why they charge $249 but fails to mention that the same service is available for free on the official federal site. This deliberate omission is a deceptive tactic designed to scam unsuspecting users by mimicking an official government website.I urge anyone seeking an EIN to verify that youre on the official *** website before providing any personal or payment information. Through my own neglect and bad memory I forgot that EIN numbers are given directly through the **** I attempted to get one through this site which I thought was official. I paid the $279 to get an EIN for a sole proprietorship. They sent me an email saying that I did in fact receive an EIN and there was a pdf attached with no information. Then I got another email sometime later, that there was a name conflict. I called for clarification and they said that I already have an EIN via a separate sole proprietorship under the same social security number. I explained that I have never applied for an EIN for any prior sole proprietorship EVER. But, they proceeded to tell me via phone that they got their information through the ***. I then called the *** and they confirmed what I told the scammers, that there is no EIN number attached to my social security number in the *** system, AND they reminded me that EINs are FREE through the *** website. This is where my bad memory comes in, I knew that, but forgot. I called back the scammers, to cancel my order and ask for a refund. They said that because the order was "partially fulfilled" my request for a refund may or may not be granted. And if it is granted, there will be a $75 deduction from my refund. 2/28/25 at 11AM CST This companie and their website is a scam. Mimics the *** government website to file EIN. After submitting my information I immeadiately realized it was a third party and immeadtiately requested a refund via phone and email within 30 seconds of submitting my information. They had not filed my EIN yet. I spoke with them directly requesting them to not use my information and to cancel. I also sent an email and requested to speak with a supervisor all within 2 minutes of submitting my information. 3 hours later I recieved an email stating that they filed my EIN and will only refund the partial amount. They still charged me $75 to file my EIN (a free on *******). I was scammed and would like to file a complaint against this company and request a FULL refund. There website states that if cancellation is received within a 1 hour and my request was not processed a full refund would be processed:Cancellation When you place an order through the Services, your order begins processing immediately. Due to the varying nature of processing times, you may request cancellation after your order has been placed but we cannot guarantee that your order will be canceled. You may be able to cancel your order for the Services if your order has not begun processing and you contact us within one (1) hour of placing your order via email at ****************************************** or by calling **************. I recently attempted to apply for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) through what I believed to be the official *** website. However, I later discovered that the company I used was actually a third-party service that is not affiliated with the *** and is not BBB accredited. The company misrepresented itself in a way that led me to believe I was dealing directly with the ****** a result, I unknowingly provided my personal information and was charged $249 for a service that should have been free through the ***. Despite this, I have not received my EIN number and have now wasted both time and money.This is deceptive and unacceptable business practice. I am requesting a full refund and for the company to cease misleading consumers who are trying to obtain a legitimate EIN. I am rejecting this response because: The business did not attempt to refund my card. Instead they attempted to charge it for an amount other than what I was originally charged. I emailed the business and they are not answering my questions, and just saying that they tried to refund me, even though they did not.I would like a refund in another method other than the card that was originally used, since the unauthorized attempt to use it is considered fraud.

This company did not refund me, they charged me, and now I have to dispute these transactions with my bank. When I asked for a refund they charged me multiple times on separate days. Two of these charges went through and one of them my bank marked as fraud. I'd like a refund to be made to me but it's looking like this company is going to continue to scam people instead.
