I am currently enrolled in ClearOne Advantages debt settlement program and have serious concerns about how my accounts have been handled. Ive experienced credit damage, unexpected settlement outcomes that conflict with their advertising, and conflicting information from creditors.I made multiple formal requestsby phone and emailfor documentation showing how my payments were used, what was communicated to creditors, and whether my accounts were properly settled. ClearOne failed to provide this documentation and refused to disclose their Texas surety bond information, which Im entitled to as a ***** resident and current ********** major issue: ClearOne allowed a ************* account to proceed to court, resulting in a judgment, despite early warnings and my reliance on their guidance. I was advised to ignore creditor contact, and ClearOne failed to act or escalate until it was too late.Another issue: a debt sold to ***************** was marked settled by ClearOne, yet ********* reported a balance for months before quietly removing the tradeline with no documentation or explanation provided after I made legal threats.I am requesting that ClearOne provide all legally required documentation and their Texas surety bond details so I can investigate suspected mishandling and determine if further regulatory or legal action is needed. I also have recorded phone calls documenting these discussions and formal requests.Business Response

I was seeking financial relief and reached out to Clearone Advantage and spoke to a rep on the line who seemed very knowledgable. I trusted them when they went over the program and terms but as several months went on and money being added to my account with them I didn't understand why my debts were not being paid only two accounts out of 15 were receiving fund. Every time I was approached with another credit offer from one of my creditors they asked me to add additional funds in order to make it happen. I have contributed about $20,000. since I enrolled in 2023 with only 2 of the least amount owed debts being pain and all my money is gone. I have been scammed and don't know what to do other than have my Bank stop any future drafts to them.Business Response

2 years ago I signed up with clear one advantage to settle debts. I have multiple accounts and over the past 2 years they have collected $5,860.49 from me. The seven accounts that I signed up with that they were supposed to settle add up to a settlement remaining balance of *******. they never informed me of the settlement fees which equal $2011.25. when you initially sign up, they state that they will save you 50% of what you *** to these companies. After all is said and done, I would have saved $48. In the meantime it's been 2 years my payments are done and they have only settled one account. Every time I've reached out to them they give me the runaround. I never hear back from them. It's impossible to get someone on the phone. They have $5860.49 of mine sitting in their Bank and they just informed me that they now need to renegotiate and there may be more settlement fees. But they won't tell me why they haven't paid the accounts. They're now telling me they need to renegotiate and it may cost more money. This is absolutely ridiculous. My credit card account was negotiated down to $5000 from $6000. Clear One Advantage is taking monthly payments from me for $265 to supposedly cover it. This would take about 21 months to pay off but they are making me pay them for 34 months, charging me nearly double to pay off my account. They are charging me over $4000, which they are pocketing. They are criminals. I want my payments to cease as of today or I will not consider this matter resolved.Business Response

I joined their debt consolidation program in 2022. I was told withing ***** months i would be settled with my debt. We are now 3 years in- I have had TWO court summons with a worse credit score and financial place. It was a total scam, they continue to ask me to pay more and they have not settled the accounts that i asked for. they have terrible communication.Business Response

I have paid them ****** dollars monthly for 3 months then they requested I up the amount so for two months ****** dollars. They may have paid out of this money ****** I say may lightly to two companies. I started with them in Late October the payment was withdrawn in November 2024 and I saw no movements. I have the proof of what they took and when from my bank account automatically each month. Never missed payment in the 6 months I saw no outcome but to leave and get out. when questioned about a refund of money not spent on the bills I was told nothing was left. They paid themselves before they paid the companies. I have proof of all that went on. Sadly, they took my money for themselves not paying what they asked for to anyone but themselves. I want people to know be very careful when dealing with Consolidation loans they make you late and do not pay on time like they promise. Please help others to understand. I am 70 years old tried to do the right thing with promises they could, and did not keep. Please check my bills were paid on time all the time. This is just not right to do at all. My name is *********** *****, and I am submitting this complaint regarding my experience with ClearOne Advantage, whose *************** Program (***) I enrolled in on May 22, ******* the time of enrollment, I was fully current on all my credit accounts and maintained a credit score of approximately 780. I was advised by ClearOne representatives to immediately stop making payments to my creditors, and that I would likely receive collection calls, but should ignore them, as ClearOne would be handling all communications with my creditors.They assured me that:My credit score would not be drastically affected,ClearOne would promptly contact all creditors, and The *** would help me manage my debt without severely harming my credit.Unfortunately, after following their advice in good faith, I experienced a devastating drop in my credit scorefrom around 780 to the low 450s. Additionally, several of my accounts were reported as delinquent or charged-off, causing long-term damage to my credit profile. I have since learned that ClearOne did not contact all my creditors in a timely or effective manner, and there was no clear plan in place to prevent the negative reporting.Had I been truthfully informed about the real and significant risks to my credit standing, I would not have proceeded with this program. Ms. ****** reported an issue with our click to chat (CTC) feature, available through our portal, and the matter was sent to our IT Department to be addressed.
