I'm a Doordasher. Today I accepted 3 orders totaling more than 100 items to shop for this ALDI location. It took me two hours to shop the orders which was fine because the pay was $42 total. The person behind me only had 6 items so I let them go first. When it was my turn, I put the first order on the belt. When the cashier, a middle-aged, black-haired lady with glasses, was ready for me to pay for the first order, I asked her if I could quickly unload the cart, so I could keep the orders separated. She unbelievably said, "No, the line is too long for that." Not expecting such rudeness, I didn't know what else I could do. I said, "do you have another cart I can use?" She said, "if you have a quarter you can go get one," and pointed at a row of locked carts, even though it would have taken about the same time to just empty the cart. I didn't have a quarter though, so that wasn't an option for me. She then told me I'd have to either mix all my orders together or go through the checkout line (which was ridiculously long by this point) 3 times in order to keep them separate. Not wanting to risk either of those TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE options, I decided to empty the cart anyway. As soon as I did, the only other cashier said, "just don't help him anymore. He's doordash. I wish we didn't have to do those." I said, "Wow, that is some amazing customer service you two exhibit..." Then my cashier said she would no longer help me and told me to leave and not come back. So I left and immediately contacted ******** support to tell them what happened and request that they permanently drop ALDI from their book of business, since I just wasted two hours shopping three orders AND NOW RECEIVING NO PAY FOR ANY OF IT!! Why do you choose to hire people that obviously don't want to do their job and have absolutely no business working in ANY customer service industry?? The way you treat business partners is shocking and disgraceful to say the least.

    Business Response

Hi. We have attempted to reach out to this customer multiple times to hear more about this incident. We have been unable to get in contact with him. However, we found the transaction on our surveillance footage which showed that we had multiple people come to assist with the transaction. We would be happy to hear more from this customer to see what we can do to rectify the incident as customer service is our number one concern. Please let us know what else we can do.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is not satisfactory to me. This business only attempted to contact me ONE TIME from a Restricted Private Number, as shown in the attachment. The fact that they attempted to disguise the number they called from speaks volumes about their intentions. They lied repeatedly in their response to you, including that they attempted to contact me more than once, and that surveillance footage showed multiple employees attempt to 'assist' me. If by 'assist' they really mean verbally attack, then yes...multiple employees DID verbally attack me that day! I do, however, appreciate the laugh when I read the part about customer service being their top priority!! I assume that was definitely a joke. Regardless of the shady, lackluster response from ALDI management (no surprise), I am perfectly fine with this case being closed, since I have already done all I can in bringing this disgusting behavior to the attention of Doordash and seeking their dismissal of ALDI from their book of business partners, as well as share my experience with everyone I can to warn them of the experience they may encounter there, so the wise can seek business elsewhere... As always, thank you BBB for helping me shine a light on these bad actors in the business realm. Your contribution is much appreciated!

    Sincerely,
