Being a small amateur luthier (non-profit), of string instruments, I have dealt with IVC for quite some time. Although sometimes it is months or years between my orders, I have never received an order in an untimely fashion. IVC is always quick to respond to my internet orders. Since I live close, about 35 miles, I often receive my orders within 1 day The catalog of items is complete with everything I would ever need for violins, etc. The tools and supplies are first rate, as is the staff. Last month Denny in the warehouse called me about an item that was out of stock in my chosen color. That was quickly resolved and am so glad he took the initiative to call.
Thanks for doing a great job and having the grace to deal with an amateur luthier

So there is a manager by the name of Ken; with whom I just had a really nasty conversation. Here is why:
I originally placed an order for 3 sets of strings. I placed the order on my credit card; which has the correct billing (and mailing) address. The person who took my order did not confirm my mailing address (so he assumed it was the same as previously on file). Unfortunately I moved. So they sent it to an incorrect address. My assumption is that businesses ALWAYS ship to the billing address on the credit card used -OR- they ASK you to verify a DIFFERENT address for shipping?
So, in trying to find out why my order was so delayed (with no tracking number initially provided); after a fantastic conversation with a lady who has been there for 34 years, I was told that my order would be resent (to the correct address - AS IS ON CREDIT CARD USED). But another phone call later, I found out it was not resent. That is when I spoke with Ken (manager).
It was then that Ken tells me that the "FAULT" is on both sides; that I should have told them that I moved.
But he agrees to re-send the items; and asked that if I get the originally misent items, that I would return them.
I said, "of course" and asked for the return shipping to be covered (evidently about $6.00). It was then that Ken got angry with me; telling me that I can NEVER SHOP WITH THEM EVER AGAIN.
So, was it my mistake for not confirming a mailing address (when I was never initially asked).
And was it UNREASONABLE for me to ask for return shipping to be covered?
I wonder if I will ever see my order? Or if I am going to have to work through my credit card company to get my money back (ASSUMING that Ken is NOT going to resend my order, like he said he would).
