In Feb 2025 I paid OrthoMd delinquent billing ***** $302 because 2 claims processed by my insurance company showed I owed $302 even though I knew there was an error. So to avoid any type of derogatory info being submitted on my credit report I paid Ortho the $302. Subsequently in 3/2025 my insurance company reprocessed both claims on 3/3/2025 producing results on both claims I only owed $30 per. which I had previously paid during my office visits. As Ortho suggested in their 2/2025 email correspondence to me to have my insurance company reprocess both claims, now that my insurance company has reprocessed the claims that no longer shows I owed $302 I can't get a response from Ortho. All I'm asking is to refund my $302 that I paid that was never applied to my yearly deductible with my insurance company as their 2/2025 email to me outlined. Email correspondence from Ortho dated 2/26/2025 shows my $302.90 with them has met that portion of my $350 deductible with my insurance plan. I believe I've been patient and I know these things sometimes take time to process but it would be nice to get some communication from Ortho that it is being worked on with some estimation when it will be resolved.

I was a patient at ortho Maryland in November until February. During this time I was put in a boot which I was told by Dr. ****** to order on ****** because it would be a lot cheaper and which I did after I finished using the boot. I was prescribed an ankle brace which at the time it was fitted I told them did not feel right. I was told I just needed to get used to it. Upon getting home I try to use the brace with a variety of my shoes none of which worked right and the brace caused me a lot of pain. When I return from my first is physical therapy appointment, I have the brace with me and brought it back and spoke directly to the manager of the *** department (the people that provide the equipment), and he attempted to put me in another brace, which was a size, smaller, and still not the right brace. After my physical therapy, I returned the brace telling them that it was never a proper fit, and they knew that, and they took the brace back. About 10 days later I received a bill from ortho Maryland telling me that I owe them $78 I believe it was and they build my insurance company close to $125. When I looked on ******, which they never told me about the brace being available on ******. I saw that the brace in fact was available for $25 on ******, which didnt really matter because I couldnt use the brace anyway because it was not fit properly and it was not the right brace. I contacted ortho Maryland on numerous occasions and had numerous conversations no one ever seem to know what I was talking about. They denied getting the brace back they denied Allowed everything and they then proceeded to continue every week they send me another bill. Ive contacted them repeatedly after every time they send me a bill to discuss this with them and they dont return your phone calls and they dont respond to anything that you tell them at this point I just want them to stop harassing me and stop charging me for a device that I returned to them and was fitted poorly to start

      Good Day -

We are unable to discuss patient care issue with anyone other than the patient and their designee.  We are unable to acknowledge if a patient has seen our providers or not.  All patients that receive medical equipment from our office are fitted and provided with a non-return policy before leaving the facility.  If a product is defective, it will be replaced.  Other than defective equipment, all items are non-refundable as used equipment could not be utilized for another patient.  We communicate with all patients that have concerns about their equipment and could have a provider refit them if necessary or modify the equipment.  I am sorry that we could not provide a more specific response due to any patient's right to privacy.

I am rejecting this response because:
I Give Orthomaryland permission to give information to the BBB. The brace you gave me was improperly fitted by your staff and I indicated that it did not feel right during the fitting visit. I was told, it just takes getting used to. The brace was unusable and when I brought it back, the person in your DME **** told me that it was too small. This is why I returned it. I was also never told that this exact brace was available on ****** for $25 instead of the crazy price you charged both my insurance company AND me.  I have called your billing department many times and have left many messages w no response. I will also be discussing this matter with my insurance company. I will proceed w this matter until it is satisfactorily resolved .
      Sincerely,

      ***** ******
