I had to make a follow up call to Mr Rooter after having my water line replaced. The area where my driveway and sidewalk meet along the edge of my yard had sunk and showed a large void in the dirt. In this case Mr Rooter had previously not properly filled the area they dugout under the driveway and sidewalk. There is no damage to the sidewalk or driveway but my concern is since there is a lack of dirt where there once was, that the sidewalk or driveway may sink. The problem started during excavation when Mr Rooter could not locate the water line. Not on did Miss Utility mark it for them, I had previously got a plumber who has a app on his phone that shows where the lines are. I mentioned this to Mr. Rooter and showed them where the water line was. Mr Rooter stated to me that they did not trust these apps for locating lines. After 4 hrs of digging they finally dug where I had ask and there the water line appeared in short order. The dirt removed from the area was not put back with the volume removed. Now they tell me they are not responsible under the Warranty for any damage to the driveway or sidewalk. FRANZ there is no damage just a void where the dirt was not backfilled properly. Your warranty should cover this under the "workmanship" portion. I have pictures of the excessive digging and the clean out for the sewer they broke (and did not tell us, I called and they fixed it after making excuses). I also have pictures clearly showing the void areas I'm speaking of. These were areas they did not fill properly. Rooter & Franz need to honor the warranty they keep referring to when I call.

We have replaced the line for *** *********r (customer) back in 4-5-24. In our contract clearly say that we will not take any dirt or bring any dirt to property. We use the same dirt that was dug up back in the ditch. Water line and sewer lines are marked by Mrs. Utility, and we only follow those marking as we are supposed to. Sometimes marking can be off and we have to search for the county tab and that is what we did. We fixed everything and after almost 5 months customer called and said that there is a sinkhole in the corner of his yard. In the contract clearly said that we are not responsible for any sinkholes that could possibly occur which happens to 10% of our customer. Even with this clause, we go and buy dirt at our expense to take care of sink hole as a curtesy. Our people went over there and saw a small sink hole that rain has caused, and we filled it with gravel and dirt. This gentleman wants us to get an excavator and dig up dirt 5 feet deep and fill it. Well, our guys filled it with 3-4 bags of dirt and gravel, and it was packed really good that even customer tried to push a crowbar in it, and everything was so packed that even a crowbar could not penetrate. We have done everything we could and the way customer has behaved, from here on we will follow any work according to the contract that was agreed and signed.

This is a horrible company. They do not honor their quote or contract. My quote ($12,800) was for replacement of all quest piping in my house. After they left in noticed the quest piping to my upstairs bath tub was not replaced. I called and the guy came out. He said it was not replaced because they would have to replace the faucet. They never said anything when they were here. I said their quote included replacement of both my shower heads and if the tub faucet needed to be replaced they should have included it in their quote. He refused to honor the quote and said it would cost more money. I told him that was unacceptable. As the plumber (Rich) left my house he called his boss and called me douch for demanding they honor their quote which I paid in full. Their rating should be zero and their people are not nice. Never use this company.

I am so sorry that you are feeling this way. When we give you the estimate, mentioned to you that the only section that will not be included was the Roman tub faucet, unless the price increases $1800.00 more due to difficulty of replacement of the faucets for these hot tubs. You said it was ok not to do that part. However, you act very hustle when our tech came to see and explain again about what was going on and you used strong language and very disrespectful right from the time he walked in the door. Then you called me and as soon as I said hi, start blasting me with profanity and would not allow me to talk and threaten to call lawyers and so forth. If you would like us to go over this, no problem, but you must be calm and respectful please. So let us know when you would like to discuss this matter calmly, then we can go over it. Thanks.

I saw the advertisement online for Mr. Rooter Plumbing-Greater Baltimore area. I called on 11/28/23 to arrange for a plumber to give me an estimate to secure the gas line in my basement to the wall. This is needed to bring my home up to code in preparation for my new gas dryer installation next week. The rep that I spoke with was very friendly, & was able to schedule my appt for 11/29/23, 12pm-2pm. I asked the rep about the promotions that Mr. Rooter were offering online. She mentioned that I could speak with the plumber about them when he arrives. Rich B*** is the tech who was assigned to this job. He arrived promptly on 11/29 at 12:14pm. I explained to him the work that needed to be done. He asked me if this request was for a dryer being installed by **** *****. I said, yes. He further stated that he just completed a similar job for another customer & was therefore familiar with that type of job. We proceeded to my basement area for his assessment. He quoted me $356 & I shared with him the online coupon that was applicable to this service. Rich took a screen shot of the coupon and texted it to the owner for approval. Rich then called the owner. The owner responded to the text with approval, and Rich also explained the job to him over the phone. The owner approved the work and coupon. Rich stated that he was quite sure that he had the parts that he needed in his truck. He left my home to go to his truck. He was in his truck for a while. When he returned, I noticed that he was a bit distant. He stated that he had to go to the store to get the parts and would return. He left my home at 12:35pm. I received a call from the owner at 12:53pm. He stated that he could not honor the quoted price because he wouldn’t be making any money. He said the the parts were too expensive. He would need to charge me an additional $184 & would not be able to honor the coupon. Everything about this experience with the tech & owner were misleading.

Unfortunately, this job required a special part that we did not have available. We went to a supply house, and they said the price was almost $265.00 and must be ordered. We let the customer know that we can not do this work with initial price and since nothing was done there is no charge, and she can call other companies which may have the part and will be cheaper. We hardly have any issues like this, but the deal must have profit for us. I am sorry this happened and hopefully Mrs. H****** found someone to do the work.

The purpose of my review was to share the misleading advertisement and experience with Mr. Rooter’s owner and tech. As I mentioned before, it’s unfortunate that this contractor was not able to honor the estimate that they gave me. They also would not honor their promotion advertised online. As stated in my review, the tech mentioned that he had just completed a similar job. He, therefore, should have been more knowledgeable about the expenses associated with such a job. Perhaps the company can ensure that experienced techs are sent out to give job estimates. The owner should also be more knowledgeable before granting approval for the tech to complete a job. The tech contacted the owner for approval before he left my home to get the parts. I hope that the review that I provided is helpful to another potential customer if they should decide to proceed with any work with this contractor.
