I hired ***** from Creative Chaos to paint my kitchen cabinets around mid may 2024.I paid her in cash $2,300.00 and the move I looked at my cabinets I noticed major flaws just a sloppy job. Clumps of paint, polyurethane globs, stripped screws, uneven cabinets. She dropped polyurethane on my trash can and curtain I tried to get off now I need a new one. I asked her for my money back she said no then I asked for at least half my money back she said no. I had 3 other contractors here to estimate a price to correct her shotty job. And my cabinets will need to be redone completely. I don't know what else to do. I found her on ********. Please help me. Thank you ********* *******Customer Answer

My companys name is Creative Chaos LLC
The customer contacted me to paint her cabinets in Navy. She accepted my price of $2,400. I wrote a full description of what I would be doing for the process. I took all the doors off and brought them home with me . I carried them down 32 steps since her condo did not have an elevator in her building .I spent over 2 days completing the cabinets at my home, wrapped them up and carried them back up 32 stairs . I spent 2 days at her home doing the same procedure to the frames. Over the course of the 4 days, customer did not say she was displeased with my work and did not have anything negative to say. We happened to have a very nice conversations during the time I was at her home. I was in the middle of closing on my new home and had to come back a different day to continue .I offered to take $200 off of the cost for the inconvenience. She thought that was too much and didn't even want me to take anything off but we settled on $100 . I pride myself on customer service and I did not want My issues with my home closing to inconvenience her . I was not done with the job and we coordinated a day and time for me to return to finish the job .there were still touch *** and repairs that needed to be done .I was to return this past Tuesday to do so. The customer had taken out cash to pay me in full before the job was completed. I told her she didn't have to pay me until the job was done .she said it was no problem and I should take the money in full. I then said she could pay me half then and pay the rest when I was done and she was satisfied with the job .she insisted I take the payment in full the next day I received a very unexpected outrageous and ***etting text from the customer. She told me how horrible my work was and i completely ruined her cabinets and said I did a shotty job and that she had wanted the payment back in full by the end of the weekend . These harsh words were completely out of left field. Not one time did she ever tell me what she thought of my work while I was there in her home . I reminded her that I was not yet done with the job and I was to return after the weekend to complete it . At that time I would have have touched up any spots, changed the stripped screw, wiped the handprints off the doors. Furthermore at the end of my jobs I have my customers walk around with me to make sure they are satisfied with the job and will not leave their home until they are .I have 5 star ratings and many many repeat customers that can vouch for My work and customer service . The customer had also accused me of ruining her garbage can .spilling paint and polyurethane on it when I had specifically moved it to the corner of the kitchen so it wouldn't be in my way .she also said I got polyurethane on her curtain which I also had to remove before I started the job I am a very reasonable person and I am willing to correct what needs to be done to make customers happy . I have never been spoken to or disrespected in that manner .I spent a lot of hours working this job .I do deserve to get paid for my time and expenses .but most importantly I was NOT finished with the job and she refused to let me come back to complete it . I have numerous texts to back up our conversations. Also a customer pays in full i would expect them to be happy with my work .why would she pay me in full if she was displeased .?

I am rejecting this response because:***** did not write anything out for me no contract. She can't touch up this mess as you can see in the pictures and none of my new contractors will touch up because they need to be done over as they will peel and already are. She has never done cabinets before and it shows. She did ruin my trash can and I told her while she was here and she said nothing and she got paint on my curtain too. When she left after I paid her in full I checked the cabinets again and realized they were a mess. She mention to me that she did a bad job for another customer and had to paint a room to make the customer happy.
She wrapped my newly painted cabinet door in saran wrap. Paint is already chipping off cabinets and hinges. I'm in remission for cancer and have chemo brain still. Also, she should have refused the money as like she said she wasn't done knowing my health condition. She is very unreasonable and I want a full refund.
Thank you.

The customer states that the paint cannot be touched up. This is untrue. I have never left a job incomplete or not to the satisfaction of the customer. My customers can vouch for all the work I have done for them and the great customer service I provide.
As I stated before I did not get any paint on her trashcan. The picture she provided looks like a large amount of paint spilled on the top. If I did that I would have offered to buy a new one for sure. In one text she told me I owe her $100 for a new one and in another text she stated I owe her $50 for a new one . Previously she stated I dripped polyurethane on the curtain and in her new response it states I got paint on it . I know for sure neither dripped on it because I was the one that took the curtain down to paint around it since she did not prior to me coming. In reference to me repainting a room for an unhappy customer that just isn't true .I do not paint rooms ever after allowing the paint and polyurethane to dry I wrap them up in industrial saran wrap to protect them from chipping when transported. This is a responsible and safe way to ensure it's protection . The saran wrap does not cause it up chip or peel .the paing I used is Fusion Mineral Paint and a durable water based polyurethane. If you research the brand it prides itself on its durability and does not even require a polyurethane coat on to protect it but I add it for exceptional protection
As I preciously stated the days the customer paid me in full I most certainly refused being paid in full until I was done with the job . After she insisted I suggested that she pays me half then and half at the end of the job. She again said no.
While I was there we did have conversations about her cancer being in remission and that she is back to work full time and managing well I am not a doctor but at no time did I feel like she was not capable of making an informed decision about the job or the money
it is not my intention to be insensitive to the customers illness
I do hope a decision can be reached soon rather than going back and forth with she said he said . I have 1700 followers on my business page and if it would help the decision I can provide numerous referrals of satisfied customers which would support my work My customer service my honesty and an overall complete satisfaction with Creative Chaos

I'm out $2300 and now I need to spend $200 more. The business should pay for this not me. Just have the business refund my money so I can redo my cabinets. Thank you. ********* Shipley
