I am reaching out to you for help regarding two bills I received from Adventist HealthCare:1) $717.26 bill with account #************ $125.00 with statement number ********* I wrote to both Adventist and CareFirst regarding these bills without a proper response. The bills are now in debt collection without either agency answering my questions or giving me proper assistance prior to sending them to debt. I want Adventist to please speak to me about these bills and help me with financial assistance. When I booked the ** scan Adventist said I would only owe $400, so I paid $100 at booking and made an agreement with Adventist to pay the rest in $100 increments (so $300 more total). Adventist billed me more than $300 (#AHI316059). I also booked a separate appointment for a *************** but the bill (*********) is marked that it came through Dr. ********** which is incorrect. I reached out to CareFirst and Adventist for assistance in getting the proper amount billed and to make payment arrangements. I tried to get all in writing vs. phone. Examples attached here:1) CareFirst Nov. 16, 2024 2) Adventist Nov.18, 2024 3) CareFirst Dec. 11, 2024 4) CareFirst Dec. 13, 2024 5) Adventist Jan. 10, 2025 On Jan. 10, I wrote to Adventist HealthCare *************************** and I applied for financial assistance regarding the two bills. I was never made aware the bills were being sent to collections. This is upsetting. On Jan. 13 I received a collections bill and called **** ***** who said she would note my account that I had reached out to Adventist and CareFirst. She put the account on hold until they speak with me. I am asking that the BBB have Adventist bill me the proper amount (the agreed-upon $400, with $300 remaining) and apply financial assistance aid according to the application I sent.Thank you for your help -

I received a letter from Adventist HealthCare dated 1.21.25 which asked for more information to determine if I am eligible for financial assistance. It states that my application is "denied" unless I provide 3 months' worth of bank statements, family income, and signed letters from those I am receiving help for utilities, rent and food. It states if they don't get that information back within ************************************************************ ample time to get this information and no contract information to tell them this other than a mailing address.

I cannot send "signed" letters for utilities, rent and food by that time. I already sent letters from Maryland ***, SNAP and a copy of my benevolence for rent. I don't have a way to ask these organizations to send signed letters - I only have (which I have sent) - official copies of the letters stating I've been approved and are in their programs.

I plan to re-send this information along with my bank statements. But they will not arrive within the 10-day window they are demanding. That's because our ******************* is slow. It will likely arrive Feb. 2.

I ask that the BBB request that Adventist HealthCare understand that the postal service is slow, and a 10-day window from the date of the letter (not when it was mailed out) is not enough time. Also, I have already provided evidence of financial assistance.

    Thank you

Copy of letter attached. This is the letter that asks me to send additional information. NOTE: The letter does not have a phone number or email so I am not able to quickly reach them for assistance so I can give them the information needed in a timely manner. Thank you.

Please keep this complaint open. I added to my file and BBB complaint that the business DID contact me. So you closed this prematurely.

The business asked me for additional financial information, which I mailed to them, and I am waiting to hear back.

    Please keep this open.

    Thank you,

Please do not close this case. The business reached out to me on 1/28 for additional information, which I mailed to them. A copy of that letter is in this complaint file.

Why has this been closed? The matter is ongoing.

    Thank you,
