Remodel USA did a shower replacement for us starting Sep 8 2022. There were problems from the start. For one thing the sales person ordered the wrong parts which then caused a significant delay. He also over promised the features of the shower. When the workers showed up, they seemed competent, but few of them spoke any English so any concerns I had were always referred to a voice on a cell phone, who never actually visited the job site. The job was supposed to take 3-4 days, but after the Sep 8 start was not completed until Oct 13. There was never any supervisory inspection of the completed job, I had to point out that one of the shower walls was pulling away from the wallboard and that large lengths of edge tile had been left broken and ungrouted. Then in mid-December one of the shower heads snapped off during routine cleaning, and I noticed that the garage ceiling directly below the shower had leak stains. The company promised to fix the problems, but to date they have not shown. For 3 weeks they have not even responded to my phone calls, which are now always routed to voice mail. This was a $30,000 construction job, and it has been a disaster.Business Response

Signed a contract with remodel USA in June 2022, The worker was pushy did not explain things to me and had me sign on my ****** that he asked me to log into my email and pulled everything up for me and told me where to sign. Work was supposed to be done but supplies were not arriving in timely manor stated by the company. Then they kept changing the work date saying their works had Covid 19. I paid one deposit. Then they demanded a second check from me in December. Due to my age and health I had to sell my home. They would not return my calls when trying to work with them. They were paid $10667.00 and No work was rendered or services provided.Business Response

In June, this company's Waynesboro division sold me a walk-in tub with installation for a total of $19,001.11 (paid in 2 installments, $6,400.11 on June 18, 2022 and $12,601.00 in August of 2022). Tub was installed 4 days late, and I was not happy with it. Slipped the first time I used it, hurt my back, but not seriously, as I was able to catch myself. Second use, I caught my toe in the door, not serious, but painful. The door was not wide enough and opened inward, contrary to the "easy entry" promised. I called the company repeatedly to ask someone to fix it, as this tub lacked the features the salesman had promised, including storage space and a non-slip floor, but no one answered. Then one nights the jets on the tub started going off by themselves, every half hour with no explanation, until finally I turned off the breaker to cut the power to it. Dealing with these problems is difficult for me as I have mobility issues and am legally blind. After numerous phone calls, finally the company admitted that they had installed the wrong tub and put in another model. There was still none of the promised storage space, so they put in a small metal shelf, 12 inches by 3 inces deep, which was insufficient. First time I filled it, I had put on some soup bones and water to simmer for an hour. When I went to get out of the tub, the release would just let a trickle out, making odd noises and then shooting sparks. By pressing it repeatedly, I was able to empty the tub, but the process took 2 and s half hours, by which time my house had filled with smoke from the burned-up soup bones. Had to scrub the kitchen the next day. Tried to call numerous times since, but the company has quit answering my calls. Have requested a copy of the contract for my records numerous times since buying the tub, but the company has never mailed me anything. I put my savings into a $19,000 tub I am now afraid of, that I cannot use, and no one will respond to me. Please help me hold them responsible.Business Response

On 11/29/2022, I entered into a contract for a bathroom remodel with Remodel USA based in Capitol Heights, MD via a Hampton, VA office, and paid a deposit of $2000 for a $19,900 job. The two sales agents came to my house for what was expected to be a one-hour visit to develop an estimate. This visit lasted 3 hours, ending at 10pm, and with the threat of disappearing discounts if I didn't sign same-day. Through BBB and other sources, I have since read highly negative reviews of Remodel USA regarding quality of work and damage to homes. I cannot take the risk as I intend to quickly sell the house. I wish to terminate this contract and received a refund of my $2000 deposit. Work has not started and installation is not scheduled. I have been in touch with the sales rep about my wish to cancel, but have not heard back from the sales manager.Business Response

last time I checked the information was still available on-line. I have asked that the information be removed, and they do not use any of the information without my prior written approval. This does not seem to me to be difficult for them to agree to do and to actually comply with the request in my opinion.
I do not believe this should be closed with a positive spin for this business but that is only my opinion.

I had two showers installed, both in 2022. The first shower installed now has three small chips at the bottom of the shower, white tape showing around the shower head, and caulking that needs replaced because it is coming off the shower. The second shower was installed about a month ago for almost $5000 more. I reached out to Remodel USA multiple times and left multiple messages to multiple individuals to see about having the cost reduced because several changes occurred between the time I signed the contract and final installation. The second shower is smaller, does not have the barn doors, and is not as nice as the shower I paid $5000 less for. I have yet to receive a response from the company. I am extremely disappointed with both the cost and the quality.Business Response
Date: 05/31/2023
To whom it may concern:
Pricing for the shower is set based on the scope of work, the price charged for the second shower was what was contracted and signed for by the customer, she was given the required right of rescission by the law and had the opportunity to cancel the contract during that period if she so chose to, which she did not. She did not raise concerns about the price until after the work was finished and she had already signed a completion certificate for it. That being said, we do have record that service work on this was completed in Feb 2023. We have not been contacted by the customer after this resolution of the service and we are not aware of any additional outstanding items needing repair. We will honor the warranty for any future service work needed, within the warrany timeframe.
We did reach out to the customer on 2/18/23 to verify all service work was done to her satisfaction and have not received a response.

We paid this company $17k + on 3-24-22 to have a new ****** shower installed into our house. The sales man told us the price included a new window, which is in the shower, and the window has never been installed. We have contacted the company multiple times and no results. The shower doors keep leaking and they can't fix them. I have been told by one of their employees that this has happened multiple times. Sales men promiss new windows and other items and the customer never receives them. I just want my window installed and the leaking doors fixed. I'm remodeling the entire home and I would have not spent this much money on a shower and leave an old leaking window in it.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
The window that was to be included, according to the sales agent, was never installed. We were also told be two different people that if the sales agent said that the window was included then they would install it. To this day nothing has been done. This appears to be a common problem, according to the installers. Who in their right mind would spend all this money to put a shower in and leave a leaking old window in the shower.Regards,

****************,
In response to this rejection. I have personally reviewed the contract on this job and there was no window replacement included. There are many instances in which a window exists in a wet area that is not replaced when the wet area itself is replaced. If the customer would like us to replace the window, I am happy to send someone out to measure it and we will replace it for cost. If the shower door is leaking, we will be happy to also provide service for that under our normal warranty. I am not clear whether or not this leak is still a concern or not.
Our Service Manager did call the customer on May 30, 2023 at 8:12 am to follow up with them, and they have not received a return communication. A voicemail was left at that time.
If necessary I can provide a copy of the contract to demonstrate that no window is mentioned on it whatsoever, but I believe that the customer already has this and can see that there is no line item for any window replacement.
Thank you,

On 6/18/2022 my wife and I met with ***** ***** a sales rep from Remodel USA at our home and sell us a bathtub to shower conversion. *** ***** explained that Remodel USA does these bathroom conversions using ****** products and the special material for the walls is called ******** and has lifetime warranty. I signed the agreement #****** that date and gave *** ***** an eight-thousand-dollar ($8,000.00) deposit. I did the paperwork with him to use their finance company for the remainder of the cost, approximately ten thousand dollars (10,000.00). The agreement states an estimated start date of 12-14 weeks and completed project within 14-16 weeks from acceptance of agreement. Approximately ten days later I contacted *** ***** and added a shelving system to the order and paid for that additional piece in full with a credit card $537.30. Within a few weeks I received via EMAIL the complete job specification sheet including a telephone number of ***** ***** the production person for my job. I have Spoken with ***** and his associate ****** ****** numerous times pertaining to when the job was going to be started. Only to receive boilerplate stall tactic answers. ***** has indicated that they still have not gotten the building permit from the Village of ******** as of 10/20/22. He also indicated that on the permit application the contractors have to be Licensed by the County of ********. This leads me to believe that they have not done any work in ******** County which then brings us back to the salesman ***** ***** who stated that he has done many of the projects here in ******** County. So, has *** ***** perjured himself with that statement when he was selling us the job? I have emailed the president ****** ******* and the C.O.O. ****** ************ of Remodel USA and as of this date neither one has responded back to me. At this point and time, I would like my monies returned to me. We are past twenty (20) weeks since the agreement was signed and no expected start date.Business Response

My mom contracted Remodel USA for 2 showers and 1 tub to be tore out and replaced in 3 baths. For $58k. In the process of this job she was sold on a Sunday while I was at work and she was under influence of her medications a 2nd tub job for $28k and put $5,000 down on that job and went through their financing for 24 months and approved of course. The first job was $20k down rest upon completion. That job went mainly well until the last moments when they were collecting the check which mom had me to write as she was in her chair unknowingly dieing and on film in my living room ***** is saying "you got a really good deal on those hydrorails" and repeated it with a smile in his voice and turned right into the camera smirking. I could hear it in his voice laughing at the rip off of $1k each for 3 of them but I kept quiet. He did this while my back was turned and bended over mom to get checkbook. My mom passed away a few hours later 12:23 am Oct 1st. I reported this at first saying continue other job not knowing about her financing it. A day or so later when dug into finances I called to cancel it as I see why she financed instead of cash as usual. They sent out the salesman ***************************** who was and is very cordial and he said it would be no problem to cancel and that the president and VP already agreed a refund would be issued to my mom and he was there to show how much was already done toward the next job. He said they were all sorry and they would get back to me with the refund amount etc... this is now going on weeks. ******* gave me the Vice Presidents phone number and he has failed to return my calls as of yet. So mom and I are due a refund of I'd say a better portion of that $5,000 that came out of our joint checking account as the job is canceled. ******************************* visit and conversations should be in my blink and **** cameras storage as well. Thank you! He also said that knowing she is diseased they could not continue the job with the financing she had.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: They have been unreachable since they lied and said materials had been ordered for her job. I was immediately reminded by my fiancee that the rep they sent to our house is on camera telling us that they have not ordered materials for the job and that we would get a refund. They refunded $1,400 of the 5,000 based on this " material they ordered" that is a standard sized walk in tub. So if they had actually ordered it for her job they could've just used it on the next customer they sold one to. Furthermore she passed away 4 hours after giving them $59,000 for 3 showers. Where is the compassion in wanting to keep a dead woman's money. ?? They started off professional by sending rep to give condolences and saying the VP and Pres said she would be refunded. Well it was the VP who pulled this $1,400 number out of the air and then ignored my texts after that when I was reminded what we were told. I'd like to see the invoice from their vendor ****** that has mom's job on it for the materials. They definitely lost more business from me and a couple properties and from some of my friends who will never consider them now. They lose nothing, it was gonna be a financed job and yet they are keeping $3,600 of hers. Must be hard up and much truth to the other complaints from elderly customers. Just cannot believe in this situation as this is the only company that did mom wrong in her death.

I contracted the company to do 2 bathrooms, choosing them because they had higher prices but what I believed was a better quality product. The company went through 4 crews because they weren't being paid by the company, they used the wrong items in the wrong rooms (shower and bath are in wrong rooms) and I begrudgingly accepted them for a discount. A year later we discover the bathtub leaks. We can't get the company to answer our phone calls or come back. We call a plumber, they cut holes in the wall and we think the issue is resolved. A few months later its not, called remodel USA some more. Still no response. Call out a master plumber and they want 700 to cut holes in the walls. I sent the estimate to Remodel USA, they finally send a guy out, he says not to use the tub and they will send out a service team. 3 no call, no show appointments later, I get an attorney who send in a contractor and the plumbing is fixed but now I need a drywall guy. Since the home is under warranty I would like money back for all 3 plumbers and the drywall guy.Business Response
