Had 3 past foot surgeries with a ** from this office, who since left. Having to pick a new for the next foot surgery steps, I scheduled and had an appt with ** Wallace on 03/10/2023. Jumping thru all the hoops required to get to the doctor, he came into the room and asked me to explain the reason for visit. I explained the previous 3 surgeries under a previous ** in that practice and detailed the next foot surgery need to the best I could. I asked if I should take off my sock. ** Wallace's reply, AND I quote: "NO, unfortunately I do not do foot surgeries and we no longer have a foot surgeon on staff, as he recently left this practice. We do have a podiatrist you could REschedule with if you like..." I then questioned why they would schedule me with him, given I explained the need when scheduling. Without so much as even viewing my foot, I was told I could put on my shoe and stop at the exit station on the way out to reschedule.
SINCE this, I have made FIVE phone calls to billing, providing the details. Calls 2 & 3 they could see the detail, and EVERY call was always "Problem noted & waiting on billing supv to cancel invoicing, but either out of office and on vaca, etc. & I should ignore the mailing invoices". Call #3 in May ALSO confirmed that followup with ** Wallace was noted and HE corroborated \ validated the reason! Call #5 last Tues, for past due invoice resulted in reply VM from 'AMY' and again I quote: "The charges stand because they' said that ** Wallace does handle lower extremities appts". I then asked to talk to whomever "they" are. I was refused and instead they further explained that I am ****** unless I file for insurance fraud with my carrier." I replied that this was unacceptable and I wanted to speak with someone who read the appt notes! I was refused further and they repeated, like a script, the same reply. This is **********, ********* AND ************ ******* ********* and the charges for THIS appointment need cancellation!Business Response

The complainant was treated and evaluated by a trained, board-certified, orthopedic specialist (a billable service) and was given an x-ray (also a billable service). The complainant was provided with a complete plan of care and follow-up instructions, including instructions to see a specialist should the problem worsen. We would never place any person at risk by not having a qualified provider. We have written off the bill to keep the peace.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
every one of the claims included in this response are:1) absolute and *********** ****
2) complete contradictions to the notes read to me over the phone & maintained by the reps I called at this co through June to ad**ess! Online notes that included responses from the ****** that supported my escalation!!! Notes that have magically disappeared so it seams, as of my most recent follow up call.
3) FACT - there are hoops that this company REQUIRES you jump through administratively WITHOUT AND BEFORE being allowed a doctors care!! these required prerequisites are NOT by law considered medically necessary ABSENT & BEFORE seeing a doctor. however, individuals are at the mercy of being forced to do prerequisites BEFORE ALLOWED ******* **** OR SEE a ****** at this company! This includes administrative staff assuming x-rays and forcing so.
4) FACT: once I was allowed to see ****** Wallace, he entered the room, and asked why I was there? I said that their ** Maloney performed 3 foot surgeries for me in 2019 and ongoing problems, necessitate I get the hardware removed, I then asked if he wanted me to remove my shoe and sock? INSTANTLY **. WALLACE STATED !!AND I QUOTE!!,.... "NO YOU CAN PUT IT BACK ON. I DO NOT HANDLE THOSE FOOT SURGERIES... UNFORTUNATELY OUR foot surgeon recently left AND WE DO NOT HAVE A FOOT SURGEON ON STAFF ...." although polite about it, ** Wallace DID NOT provide medical treatment or care, ** Wallace DID NOT investigate, review or discuss my foot surgeries, or my reason for being there, or elude that he had any awareness of my medical records with this company up to that minute, ** Wallace DID NOT review my foot visually or physically in any way, shape or form, ** Wallace DID NOT offer ANY care or care plan or suggestion in any way shape or form as to medical treatment or care of any sort whatsoever!!! ** Wallace DID tell me their admin desk could refer me elsewhere the ** Wallace DID IMMEDIATELY EXIT the room WITHIN 5 seconds of very professionally DENYING CARE OF ANY SORT as I detail above.
In consideration of this company's claims to the contrary, I NOW WANT COPIES of my medical records for THIS APPOINTMENT that they are suggesting ** WALLACE DOCUMENTED THAT HE PROVIDE ******* **** OR TREATMENT OF ANY SORT TO ME??????????? Further suggesting that I'm a liar, and all of this is made up for a measly hun**ed plus dollars? After I've paid THOUSANDS to this co both before AND SINCE this March appt for other docctor's ACTUAL medical treatment to my shoulder.
** ********** was my original knee doctor, now SEVEN surgeries later, and thousands of dollars paid, they want to suggest that I'm lying about ~150 $'s, meanwhile, still paid more than that for my May appointment with ***********. this entire fiasco for well over six months is completely ludicrous and unacceptable!! I will not be ******* into paying for something I did not receive!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nor will I just ignore this any longer hoping someone did their job for more months.
The claim in response, that there is a doctor's care, diagnosis & treatment documented in my medical record on file, !!BY **. Wallace!! in March is NOT ONLY beyond a sliver of a doubt a ********* medical records. This suggested witnessed, falsely documented medical record by ** Wallace takes this conversation to an entirely different level, going above and beyond a billing failure!!!!!!!!!
I want copies of the DOCTORs treatment and interactions WITH ME sent to my ad**ess on file. This request is not referring to the ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS required by non-MD staff before being allowed to see a ****** at your company!
>As I have to maintain my federal ** *** *** clearance and absolutely will not have this situation left as-is and jeopardize my career, my routine financial reporting's and my livelihood because this billing dept/company thinks they can simply provide generic, assumptive responses, ***** people into paying false bills!!!
AND I seriously doubt this ****** would jeopardize his own career in the same respect by ********** medical records!!!! I want a copy of the supposed "******* ****" provided by your DOCTOR.
The most respectable assumption is that this billing department thinks they can provide COOKIE CUTTER or BEST GUESS responses without actually investigating with the ****** to see if my quotes above would be fraudulently denied.
If this appointment is not marked as canceled in the same manner the ****** FACTUALLY handled my appt in March 2023. I will have no problem at all escalating this to the level necessary for myself, or a representative of myself, to communicate directly with **. Wallace and this company's executive staff to vet EVERY claim provided in the responses by this companies representative so far. Along with the facts as I have provided no less than on five occasions, over the last six months, including the above.
Sincerely,
****** ********

This false claim is rejected because as of Friday October 20th I received in the USPS mail, another invoice from your company for the appointment of which this complaint is about! (file attached). FURTHER I have received no verbal or written "....previously agreed to & already waived billing". IN FACT every single communication from your company is to the contrary! This includes the invoice received on the day you company makes this claim. until such time that I receive a ZERO balance invoice my complaint stands, and is valid along with all correspondence since.
Sincerely,
