      After I had blood drawn to find out if I had a problem with anemia, this doctor kept me in his office for an usual amount of time showing me diagrams, telling me how to look at blood. Information that had nothing to do with me. I actually wondered why I was sitting there so long I believe he was trying to get a 45 minutes office visit so as to charge me. I had no interest at all in what he was telling me for the 45 minutes that I sat there. Had I known he did this because he wanted to charge me I wouldve walked out. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of.

      My name is Naycherie, and I am one of the Directors at Maryland Oncology, as well as the Privacy and Compliance Officer.

      Today, I was informed by one of our site managers that a complaint has been made and requires a response.

      Unfortunately, as I have only just received this notice, I have not yet had the opportunity to investigate the issue. We understand the importance of providing a timely response.Therefore, I would like to request an extension to allow me sufficient time to review, investigate, and address the matter appropriately.

      CONFIDENTIAL RESPONSE TO COMPLAINT FILED WITH BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU
      This is in reply to complaint # ********, dated ___April 21 _____, 2025, made with respect to our medical practice.
      Since receiving the complaint, we have left the complainant multiple voice mail messages offering to resolve the issue. Despite our numerous calls, she has not responded to us.
      So that your office understands our interaction with the complainant, our doctor, after consultation with the patient and running necessary tests, explained his conclusion to her.  She strongly disagreed, and so he ran additional tests.  He then spent significant time with her to enhance his explanation, but she continued to vehemently disagree. Our physician believes that the amount of time spent with the patient was necessary in order assure her understanding.  
      We deny any wrongdoing.  Nonetheless, please advise the patient that, as a courtesy, we are writing off the balance of her account.
      PLEASE TREAT THIS RESPONSE AS CONFIDENTIAL.  IT MAY BE SHARED ONLY WITH THE COMPLAINANT AND MAY NOT BE PUBLISHED.
