I went **** App to find a contractor to replace my old cement steps and concrete sideway. After the request I got two phone calls immediately. After the first contractor did not follow through on visiting my property. ***** ********** from Leading Edge Avelar Contractors called me. We arranged a meeting the following week at my house to make an estimate. He arrived we discussed the project. I wanted the steps and sideways removed and replaced with pavers. He did all the measurements and a couple days later he called with an estimate. Days later he returned to my house with a written contract which I had read earlier via email. He brought the official copy. We discussed. And I (mistakenly) gave him 1/3 down payment of $3,334.00 in the form of a personal check. After he left I had 10 days to cancel. He in the mean time said we needed a Permit. He said he would take care of it. He downloaded the Permit form off our Talbot county website. He sent it to me to be signed, which I did. He said he had filed it. But I noticed there was not a number at the top of the form. Shortly, after the 10 day cancellation period was over, he cashed my check. After several phone calls waiting for the Permit to be approved. He kept saying I traveled to the office I'm working on it. I traveled to the *************. He never filed it. He had downloaded it. I called *****. He made all kinds of excuses. ***** said I'll go to the office tomorrow and get it straightened out. But the next day I traveled again to the ************* at the end of the day and ***** had never been there. Another lie. I called ***** and demanded my money back. I did not want his services because of his lies. I told him I was calling **** and HomeAdviser. As soon as I got off the phone from ***** first **** called me . I think it was either ***** or his suppose it partner. I hung up. As soon as I did that *********** called me. It was the same voice. I hung up. More occurred but this is the major complaint.

I am rejecting this response because:  I stated in earlier messages.  After the Cancellation day, a Permit was never issued and ***** stated it had to be issued before work could begin. He stated he would take care of all of it. I signed and sent ***** *** the necessary forms. ***** never went to the ************* (his first lie to me) . He never submitted the Permit. I myself traveled to the ************** They told me that ***** never visited and never submitted a form. Called *****. I'll go to the office tomorrow. And straighten everything out. The third lie. My point is how could I cancel when I was told work was not going to proceed until the Permit was accepted. I trusted ***** that all this would happen. Never was attempted. And immediately after the cancellation date, ***** and your Company cashed my $3,334 check. Since they will not refund my money. I will take this unresolved problem to MHIC.  Hopefully, they will have Leading Edge Avelar Contractors pay me a company that does not respect their customers. Scammers

    Sincerely,

    **** Anne *********
