      We contacted Lane Engineering LLC in the ********* location and talked to a **** ******* about getting a piece of property surveyed. After **** ******* wrote up a deed my husband signed it and we were told that it would be after the holidays before anything would be done. We said that was fine we understood that the holidays were around the corner and that we didn't expect it to be done right away. After the holidays I tried calling on numerous occasions to get back in contact with **** ******* with no response back after leaving numerous messages. After the last message I contacted the President of the company **** ******** and he called me back and told me **** ******* was on vacation and would contact me as soon as he returned from vacation. This did not happen but in this time of me waiting I received an invoice to pay of $348.00. Well nothing was done to the property and I had told **** ******* before we had the deeds and property maps needed to survey already printed out. Every time you call this office no matter what time of day no one is ever there to talk to and they don't return phone calls at all just emails. **** ******** said he would talk to **** ******* and get back to me, after a few weeks I contacted them yet again with no reply. Now we get another invoice charging us an additional 1.50% interest on top of the $348.00 because we didn't pay the first invoice yet no one called me like they said would happen. I emailed **** ******** again and asked when **** ******* was going to contact me back. I get an email from **** ******** and an attachment from **** ******* of the invoice again no phone call at all. I wanted to know what work they did because no one stepped foot on the property and we waited so long that we went ahead after finding the marker ourselves and put up the fence. What did they do? **** ******* states they did all this stuff to get ready to survey the property but no paperwork was ever mailed to us stating what was actually done.

      I've received a email about the situation I wrote you about and the company has responded saying we can pay half $174.00 next week. They never call you only emails that's the big issue. Also when you call them you always no matter what time it is get a voicemail no matter who you call.

      We are sorry to hear you are unhappy. Land Surveying is not always easy and when the legal description for the property is inaccurate it is harder. All land survey projects start with researching the Land Records and from this research the quality of the description is derived from the survey monuments called for and the mathematical closure of the metes and bounds. It is only by analyzing the deed does the mathematical closure come to light. Unfortunately, your deed and the other deeds surrounding your property do not mathematically close, making the simple task of recovering the property boundaries more difficult. Although we never came to your property, we did the work necessary to determine you had a defective deed, and that is why you hire a reputable consultant, to honestly evaluate your property's legal description.
