Was told, I had to pay $50 for them to come out and see what was wrong. I didn't mind paying that. The man broke the pipe worse than what it was. Didn't fix it before he left and charged me $189 For attempting to fix the pipe.
This all happened in less than 10 minutes.
I will never call these people again.
How do you go from $50 to $189 in 10 minutes after breaking something worse than it was.

    Mrs. P*****,
Sorry that you do not understand our paperwork. You called us with a bathtub faucet that would not turn off. Our trip charge is $49.00 to visit your home. We recommend to replace the faucet in your 109-year old home. You declined that and asked that we attempt to fix the faucet for our minimum repair charge of $189.00. The already broken faucet was unable to be fixed due to its age and condition.
Hopefully this explanation fills in any blanks you had.

Love this company. The professionals sent to my house for installing a new water heater and sump pump did an excellent job. They were on time, polite, quick, and clean. Well done!

I am very concerned about the way the replacement of our sewer line was handled in January of this year. We were told initially that it would take a day, "Monday, maybe into early Tuesday" It stretched into a week-long debacle with 4 days of no water or toilet use. Each succeeding day we were told it would be done the next day. The foreman (Jeremy) always arrived later than I was told they would begin, was quite rude and uncommunicative. I had specifically asked when they came out for the initial survey/estimate if they could please let me know where they would be digging so that I could remove plants in my garden. I was not so informed. Plants were buried, run over, and dug up indiscriminately. Our outdoor step light was demolished (They thankfully did replace that) Three neighbors yards were affected
.The first day they damaged my next door neighbors water pipe and she had water in her basement. I am curious why this job took so long to accomplish when a neighbor in our same row had it done last month (different company) in one day with very little damage done to his yard? Why did the foreman have such difficulty finding the pipe when a camera was run through our line and the neighbors? Why did he dig in the wrong spot, virtually digging up half the yard and covering the rest with a mound of dirt? Why was the cleanout pipe put on my neighbors property? (Just heard from them today...after two months!... that it will be moved on Monday)
I was given no satisfaction when I called the service manager (Tim) too many times to count. I was given the same rote explanation. It will take well over $1000. to replace the plants in my garden and the way they removed branches from our red maple, I still don't know if it will survive the shock.
I thought these people were supposed to be reliable professionals. After this, I sincerely doubt it. As inside plumbers, I have no complaints, but I would never recommend having your sewer line replaced by them. Never got a final bill.

On January 12, 2023 we contracted with the owner of the property to replace the main sewer line on his rental property that ran next to the property line. We have not received any complaints from the owner, and he paid the final balance in full when the job was completed. The writer of this review, Mrs. L******* is not the owner, she is the tenant. We understand she is an avid gardener and are sorry for the loss of her plants.
It is disclaimed on our contract and was explained to Mrs. L******* we are not responsible for damage to plants and trees on the property. She was given the opportunity to move her plants days before we started the excavation and chose to wait till the day we were to start. The excavation was 11’ deep and the dirt removed to get to the pipe covered the entire yard. As Mrs. L******* mentioned the dirt did spill onto neighbors’ properties. We spoke with these homeowners, cleaned up their properties to their satisfaction and fully repaired any damages we caused with no complaints.
We did expect to complete the excavation in under 2 days. Unfortunately, we had a false locate signal from the camera work and a highly unusual pipe configuration from the original sewer installation. The work did take multiple days to complete but we did this at our expense. We did not charge for the unforeseeable issues we encountered. Her call was taken every time and we did explain the reasons multiple times, but she did not understand the process. The sewer was permitted and passed Baltimore county inspection.
We tried to offer a gift card to **** ***** to help recoup the loss of some plants. She declined because she does not shop at **** *****. We offered some free plumbing service, some she declined and others she accepted including a toilet rebuild and replacing the rain leader from the house to the discharge pipe at the street.
We are sorry Mrs. L******* wasn’t happy with certain aspects of the job, but we feel we went above and beyond to achieve the quality job we are know for.

This is not an entirely true response!
Firstly, I am not a "tenant", I am the owner's mother. I am the one who contacted Abbott's originally as to the problem. Since the property is in my son's name, the work had to be ok'd by him. He lives in Canada and is trusting me to take care of the property. I was not given the opportunity to remove plants as I was NOT told where they would be digging. I was told someone would come out and mark where they would be digging. That never happened., I hastily removed some when they got here and was not informed that they would be piling mounds of dirt over the whole yard. I went out and asked if certain plants would be ok and I was told they would. They were not. I DID understand the process (I am not stupid), but was losing patience with the fact that every succeeding day I was told the job would be done. I felt like I was being lied to. We were 4 days without water and toilet use. Is this acceptable? As to the offer of free plumbing services, I got the impression it was an either/or situation and accepted the repair of the toilet upstairs (which I did request be checked in December) and greatly appreciated it. The gift card seemed be offered to appease me and it felt like an insult..
(and I am not MRS. L*******...MS!)

I contacted Abbott's Plumbing for a broken sewer line and they came out and gave an estimate. I also contacted the AA County as recommended by Abbott's to confirm the problem was on my property. AA Co came out and stated it was my property and I needed to have it fixed. I contacted Abbott's and scheduled the install, informing them of the outcome of the county visit. When the team arrived the morning to start working they found some issues and I showed them all of the paperwork the county gave me. They decided to contact the county and have someone come out while they were here. So the county came and told them the same thing that is what my issue and I had to get the line fixed. Then Richard B*** came in with an estimate which was double what they had originally quoted me. I told them that was crazy that it went from 6k to 12k and possibly more. Richard also informed me that he was told I was being charged 1500.00 dollars for the workers to stand around and do nothing while waiting on the county to arrive. I ask for the information that the county provided to the crew outside and he stated he was told by his supervisor that he could not give me that information. My credit card was charged for the 1500.00 and I was told by Tim F****** that the contract had on the back side a "Rare Circumstances" clause which allowed them to charge me.
I feel like I deserve a refund as the entire time the crew was on site NO work was done.

This is the 2nd time I used Abbott's Plumbing and I must say Mr. Bell and his co-worker Matt, was awesome!, They came in professionally and diagnose the leaking pipes that (before fixing) one could hear the extreme water pressure behind the walls. Thank you for doing another fantastic job!
