Hired co. to move belongings from Thurmont, MD to Little River, SC. Load date 4/26/23; unload date 4/28/23. Amount paid $9,175. Move included an upright piano. Supposedly ******* is professional piano movers. Piano boards were not used to load or unload piano. A wide dolly was used to load piano; the dolly had been removed from the truck and not put back and was not present for the unload; 3 men had to manually unload and move piano into new house. Piano is now grossly out of tune. Was told by Jim and James, son, ******* that all furniture would be wrapped and padded. Only 2 pieces were wrapped; main bedroom dresser not wrapped; its drawers opened at some point & dirt & debris ended up in drawers and on the contents. Was told mattresses would be wrapped/bagged; were not; dirty gardening tools were packed up against the mattress. Bottoms of main bedroom furniture got dirty from floor of Uhaul & when placed in new bedroom, stained new carpet. Was told drivers/unloaders would have time to sleep before leaving at midnight on 4/27/23; they revealed they worked a full day on 4/27, left at some point the night of 4/27; had to stop for sleep; during stop &/or during drive rain got into truck and got approx 8 boxes wet. 55" TV got broke-has been replaced by ******* already. Rails of wooden dining room table pulled out of bottom of table due to improper packing of Uhaul-$100 repair bill supposedly to be reimbursed by ******* next week. On 5/6/23 an agreed to phone call between Antonia, ******* wife, and my husband and me, to discuss the remaining issues was scheduled by HER for 7-8 pm. At 8:01 had to call her, she responded via text with excuses for not being able to make the appointed call time. We called again, she and Jim answered, Jim accused us of harassing Antonia; referred us to his attorney. We had originally asked for 10% reimbursement. Due to ongoing hassles, unprofessionalism and poor service, then asked for 20%-Jim accused us of extortion.
