I scheduled an appointment on 4/16/2025 with the Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics (11 Urbana Doctors) in **********, ** to be seen by *** ******* ****** about some knee pain that I was having. That day when I showed up I was charged my co-pay of $40 which I am suppose to pay and nothing else. I saw the *** got an order for an *** and scheduled a follow up appointment with *** ****** again to go over the *** results. The scheduled date was 4/16/25. This time when I showed up I was told that I was going to be charged a $40 copay and then I had to either 1) pay $150 on top of the copay, 2) pay the whole bill myself upfront, or 3) give them my credit card number so they could charge it later. I told them no and they said I didn't have a choice. I then said that I didn't pay this last time and asked them to pull up my bill from last time and tell me what I paid. They didn't pull it up for whatever reason and wouldn't and or couldn't answer my question as to what I paid last time and why it is different this time. I felt that I had no choice but to comply if I wanted to be seen by the doctor. In my opinion this is bully behavior or possibly a bait and switch and I thought there were laws prohibiting this sort of thing (surprise billing in a medical cases). I also spoke with *** ****** about this issue. I spoke with him because he asked me what's wrong and the fact it caused my blood pressure to spike to unusually high levels and he was concerned about me. Enough so that he would not let me leave after the appointment because he was afraid that I was going to have an aneurism or something. When speaking to *** ****** about the situation he said that he did not agree with the billing either and that he is a partner in the practice and said that despite being a partner he has no say over billing and he didn't think that was right. I feel as I'm sure others feel too (especially after seeing online that others have complained about this) that we were bullied, setup, or misled

9/10 2am these people used my bank card to pay my account in the amount of $92.00 which I never authorized. I sent them an email that I was out of work didnt get paid. I contacted the billing **** and spoke to someone who I could barely understand and told her to have her manager call me. This person told me that I gave them permission which I know nothing about. This is not right that they can use someones card to take money out of there account and not even let you know. I did file complaint and stop payments with the bank. Received a bill for $60.00.
