My 2014 ***** CRV had an issue with air-conditioning. The air blows cold, but infrequently stop blowing cold air. Usually I would turn the car off and back on ****** would resume normal operation. I made an appointment with Winkler Automotive to look into this issue. On the morning of May 24 I brought my car in for service. I was told the diagnostic fee for the problem is $189 and that the diagnostics may include injecting a dye into the A/C system to check for any leaks. At no time did I receive any paperwork or written estimate. I later received a call to say that they added coolant and my repair cost was now $478. I asked if the problem has been resolved? They said no, but now they will do the dye injection. The next day they called and said they consulted ***** and that a part was needed which would bring my total to $1800. The day after that, they called again to say they could not remove the part because they were unable to remove a part because it was in so tight. They told me after opening up my AC system that another part from ***** would have to be installed which would bring the cost to $2900. At no time did I receive any written paperwork or details about the parts needed. I asked them to return my car immediately. They said it would take time to put it back together. They informed me on May 31 that my car was ready and the cost would be $1031.98. I explained that I agreed to the $189 diagnostic fee. They said the additional cost was for labor. When I got my car back it ran exactly the same as before. I did not see signs of work performed and my A/C was unchanged. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge but unfortunately I entered the amount incorrectly as all I intended to pay was the $189 that I approved when came in for service. I am at a loss for the lack of paperwork and evidence of the work claimed. I am requesting a refund of $842 or all of my money, if they are so inclined. Receipt is attached
