The business prominently advertises notary services in their front window. I walked into the business to have my i9 form notarized so I could submit it back to my hiring company. The manager declines to notarize my form expressing that he's had issues in the past and doesn't want to do it. This is odd because for each position I have held for the past 6 years within the same company, I've had documentation notarized at *** and have used this location in the past.I think somebody should look into it and if they're not going to provide that level of service, they need to remove the sign from their store window.I was annoyed and offended by the actions of the store manager.

We are proud to offer notary service for a large variety of different types of forms. However, this form, I-9, falls into a category of documents that we do not notarize at this store: I-9, wills, deeds, financial and/or medical power of attorney forms, foreign language documents. This has always been the store's policy and is politely explained to every inquiring customer. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding.

I am rejecting this response because:

6 and 1/2 years ago, I accepted a position from my previous employer and had the documents notorized at that *** Store when they were located across the parking lot from their new location.

Every other *** Store in the area (************ or ************) expressed that is odd because his location would not offer these services as they all do. I completed my task elsewhere.

The manager mentioned he got into trouble over a specific incident that happened to him. However, I'm reporting it because I've had other experiences with dry cleaning owners in ************* that denied service and in reflection, it's struck a cord and I wanted to make sure to stand up. I only for my rights but other consumers rights as well.

**** services previously received at that location and then denied at a later, raises red flags and I thought I would make the BBB aware to ensure business practices are fair and honest.

    Sincerely,

    Sabre Chase

All The UPS Stores are independently operated. Some may notarize documents that others do not. As mentioned in our previous statement, this particular location does not notarize I-9 forms, along with several other categories of forms. This has been an in-store policy for at least over eight years under current ownership. Please see the attached policy and rules list, where the third bullet point states that I-9 forms cannot be notarized at this location. Again, we sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding that seems to have transpired. We take pride in serving our community and will look into an efficient method of clearly communicating what documents we cannot notarize to future prospective notary customers to avoid this from occurring again.
