    Due to an injury my child sustained while under the school's care and a lack of cooperation from the staff, I disenrolled my child from the school, effective November 21, 2024. I also requested a refund of the $350 tuition that was prepaid for the month of December. The Preschool Director, **** ********, responded to my email and stated that I would have my refund within two weeks. Two weeks have transpired and I still do not have my refund.

    The disputed amount was processed by the preschool's bank on Nov. 27, 2024 well within the 2 week time-frame Mrs. ****** was given for the processing of her refund. The bank issued a check to be sent through the mail to the ******' address and given the time of year and the heavy mail traffic at this time, she had not received the check yet. We were unaware she had not yet received her refund until Dec. ******* when she sent us an email. We responded to the email with a screenshot of our payment detail confirmation from the bank and instruction to let us know if she still did not receive the payment by 12/18 and we would call the bank to cancel the check and have another one reissued.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    On December 12, 2024, I sent an email to United Methodist Preschool stating that I had not received the refund check of $350 that was paid in advance for December tuition. The Pastor, Rev. ******* ***** responded on the same date, stating that a refund check was processed by their bank on November 27, 2024 and included a screenshot that he alleges contains the payment details from the bank. The screenshot does not contain any identifying information about the bank (ex: bank letterhead, bank logo), and therefore the source of this information cannot be determined. The screenshot also does not indicate where the check was mailed. The only delivery information contained in the screenshot is Deliver by December 3, 2024. There is no indication of where the check was sent. It could have gone to the church office, the preschool, or somewhere else. In addition, Rev. ***** stated that I have not received the check because of how slow the **** is this time of year. The influx of mail being transported by **** does not absolve the business from ensuring that I receive my refund in a timely manner. I contacted the business on December 12, 2024, nine days after the Deliver By date shown in the screenshot, showing that I provided additional time for delivery before contacting the business. At the time of this writing (December 18, 2024), I have still not received my refund check. In the response to my BBB complaint, Messiah United Methodist Preschool stated that they were not aware that I had not received my refund until I emailed them on December 12, 2024. They also requested that I contact them by December 18, 2024 if I still have not received my check. There are means available for the business to know whether I have received the check, such as, use of a delivery confirmation from **** and tracking information. They can also contact their bank directly. It is not my responsibility to keep contacting the business to obtain my refund. I would like the business to send the check with delivery confirmation and/or tracking within five (5) business days to my home address. This is my final attempt to collect my refund check of $350 directly from the preschool before I will move forward with legal action.

    On 12/19/2024 we received this email from Ms. ************************************* neighbor brought the envelope containing the check over to our house today. It was mixed in with their mail from a previous delivery and they noticed it today. We will deposit it tomorrow and inform BBB.
