      January 31, 2022, I worked with TEFCU to secure a Home Equity Loan for $30,000.00. Part of the process was an appraiser was sent to my home to appraise the value. During that time TEFCU DID NOT direct me to pay the appraiser (out of pocket) or I would be expected to pay for the fee ($450) at closing. Soon after I received the monies, I found out I needed more than $30,000.00, so I paid off the initial loan and a second Home Equity Loan for $45,000.00 (total). The second loan was able to be processed and I received the monies in May 2022. Today (August 23rd 2022), I received an email at work from one of the TEFCU representatives (Mary Lockman) that TEFCU did not charge me for the appraisal fee ($450), and debited my account that evening. After speaking with the loan officer for the 2nd loan (a different company) and an email from Ms. L******...it was determined the $450 was for the 1st loan and TEFCU paid the appraiser. She has not presented ANY documentation confirming her actions were proper and after reviewing my contract, I see NO DISCLOSURE stating I would be responsible for reimbursing TEFCU. Secondly, since that loan has been closed and paid in full, TEFCU can not now seek payment because of their oversight (if one actually occurred). Third, Ms. L****** (TEFCU) can not go into my account and withdraw monies without my consent!! I have contacted TEFCU of my concerns and will also reach out to the President of TEFCU to inform him of this event and the horrific customer service that TEFCU continues to provide. I would appreciate BBB's efforts to resolve this matter and have TEFCU return the $450 to my account. Thank you. (I can download the pages of my contract that contain pertinent information tomorrow. I am at home without a printer. Please let me know if that is permissible).
