Larry & Sons Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Drain & Electrical
During a snowstorm, my wife noticed we had no hot water. I contacted Larry & Sons before the storm, and while I understood their priority to ensure driver safety, they informed me it might take a couple of days to reach my residence. This was reasonable given the circumstances.
When the technician finally arrived, he quickly diagnosed a leak in our hot water tank and determined it needed replacement. He also mentioned that our water softener system was improperly installed by a previous technician and recommended replacing it. Additionally, I decided to replace the sump pump as part of the project.
However, I was shocked when I was quoted over $13,000 for the job. Given the urgency of the situation—my family needed hot water—I reluctantly agreed to proceed. Unfortunately, I later realized that I was overcharged by approximately $5,000 for the project.
To make matters worse, after the installation, the team left a mess on the street that they didn’t clean up. While I am relieved my family now has hot water and a new water softener system, I cannot justify the excessive cost or the unprofessional behavior.
I would caution anyone considering Larry & Sons to think twice before doing business with them. In my experience, they took advantage of a dire situation, leaving me feeling overcharged and disappointed.
75 Gal propane heater costs $1782.20, I was charged $4047.00.
********-150 Water softener system costs around $2000 with parts and labor, I was charged $4614.00.
copper piping replacement usually costs about $80-$160, I was charged $1592.00.
Sump pump usually costs between $400 to $700, I was charged $1360.
I was over charged $5000, I called and complained to a manager and they stated that I agreed to the terms over the phone so their is nothing that can be done. I wish that we could leave attachments with this review.
I am extremely displeased with the service I received during a dire situation.

5 starsAfter waiting for my service call time all of yesterday, it came to the attention of the dispatcher that the representative would not be able to make the appointment due to issues he was having on the job prior to mine. While disappointing, things happen! The dispatcher (Destiny) put me first on the schedule for today and sent a very knowledgeable technician to descale the tankless water heater. Shannon from the plumbing division was very courteous and was kind to answer questions and do some teaching about plumbing questions I had. 5 starsCalled Larry & Sons this morning with a gas furnace issue - they arrived quickly and tested/fixed the problem - Really nice technician (Travis) - he took the time to explain the problem & fix to me. 5 starsJustin and Drew were very professional and arrived on time. I had them install a surge protector on my home after having 2qty. 55" TVs blow out in one year. They installed a 72" fan on my back deck. Plus added a new breaker with a few outlets. I am so so so happy with the results. Excellent work and I will definitely call Larry and Sons again.
