On July 10th I had my oil changed at Jiffy Lube in ********** MD, when I left the shop I did not look under the hood of my car I have never needed to do so before, when I went to the shop I asked the tech to see if they could see if my car was leaking oil, he proceeded to tell me oh we didn't change it from the oil pan we sucked the old oil out from the top so I can not tell you if it is. After I got home my oil required indicator light came on and my husband looked under the hood and that is when we noticed that the air flow bracket had been broken off my car causing the air flow plastic part to flop out of the compartment in which it is housed. He then called Jiffy Lube to notify the manager ***** that it had been leaned on and broken off, I took the car in to ***** and advised that due to the oil leak I had an appointment at ********** he wanted to see the part prior to me taking it in so I did. When I was there at the shop he told me to let him know what the dealership said about the part, when I called him back and stated that it was going to cost ******** he said he would need to call his district manager of which he then called me back to say they would not be taking responsibility for the damage to my car as the part had been glued, the part that is broken is in the same spot his staff would have leaned over to **** the oil out of my car and had they done the oil change from under my car the tech would not have leaned on the part to break it, I cannot say that Jiffy Lube was also not the one's who tried to glue the part nor can we even say that the **** on the part is even glue, all I can say is that his staff was the last one to work on the car and they broke it on the same side as the oil components. I do not have ******** to fix my car and when I left it was broken. Given that this is the air flow that helps cool my motor I am really concerned and I should not have to pay for them leaning on it and snapping it off. Please help!

On July 10th we serviced MS. ***** 2022 ********** *****. When this vehicle is serviced for an oil change, we use a machine to **** out the oil thru the oil dipstick tube and change the filter under the hood. This is how most European vehicles are serviced. When the vehicle was brought in for me to check out, I found that the air tube was broken, and someone had glued it back together. After checking the video of that service, I didn't see that we had broken the air tube or that we had glued it back together. Just because we were the last ones under the hood doesn't mean we broke it. It could have been done when the vehicle was serviced before we did. Whoever broke it did try to glue it back together because there was glue on both parts were the break was. It could have come apart after it was broken if the glue didn't hold. Just driving the vehicle or opening the hood could have caused it to come apart since it was glued together

I am rejecting this response because: When my oil has been changed in this car before it has been done from the bottom not the top and had that been done the correct way there would be a good chance that the part would not have been leaned on which could also be how it was broken.  Not only that it was broken on the side where the technician would have been pumping the oil out of the car.

    Sincerely,
