I bought a 2015 ****** versa from a used dealership in ***** ** in Nov. 2024. the transmission blew around mid Dec. I purchased a CVT transmission from JDM on 1/9/25 for a part price of 1299 and shipping fee of 175 for a total of $1474.00. The dealership owner and I called *** the night of 1/8/25. an employee confirmed that the trans was in stock, and was compatible with my car. They requested some info about my original trans, Which the mechanic at the dealership provided to *** the next morning. I bought that night. upon arrival at the shop, my mechanic saw this part had an extra sensor. He called JDM to question this part, and was told this extra sensor was a sensor used in *****, but not used in US and that it could be bypassed, but still work in this vehicle. After installing, the car still was not working right. My mechanic called JDM, and was told by ****** to take the car to ****** for the part to be reprogrammed. I have $150 in towing bills a $348 bill from ****** for diagnostics fees. ******* conclusion was this part was not compatible in the car. when my mechanic called JDM, they disputed ****** stating the part mustve been faulty. ****** also stated that Hassans instructions were wrong. They do not tell customers to have ****** reprogram their trans because all of their parts are Japanese and **************** will not recognize their parts. They agreed to reimburse the ****** bill, which I had in writing, but asked me to wait for a new trans to be sent, installed, and for my car to be fixed to call back for the reimbursement of this bill. The second trans was installed and still the car is not working right. I have paid for 2 labor jobs, the above bills, and $414.67 in transmission fluid and filters in these parts. Now they are refusing to honor the warranty unless I pay more money to remove the second transmission they sent, and are refusing to pay the bill. They are now saying that my mechanic was not a professional and made a mistake.Business Response

As we stated in our company policy and mentioned to her that our warranty only cover parts no labor. When she reached out to us regarding the transmission being defective, we honored the warranty and sent her another transmission. After the installation of the second transmission she reached out again saying that the second transmission was defective too. At this point we were sure that the transmissions were most likely good but her mechanic did some errors. We asked ********* to send proof of the second transmission being defective but she failed to do so. Then we asked her to send both transmissions back to issue her a full refund but she rejected to do so. At this point we assume that the second transmission is good and she is making false statement to get a refund. In addition, we offered her to bring her car to our facility and we would put in another transmission free of charge but she only needs to pay $80 for fluid but she rejected again. We have been trying to help this customer to get her car up and running but she isn't cooperative with us, even though we honored the warranty once and we should not do it twice.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
While yes their policy does not cover labor costs, I have had to pay 16 hrs in labor to install both their transmissions, and have placed $414 worth of fluid and filters (not labor) into the parts they want returned. Asking me to return this part would cost me another 4 hours in labor fees to remove. And they are getting parts back with fluid and filters for free.I have also offered to send them proof it is not working, however they have stopped responding to me. I also offered to send back the original transmission out of my car and the first transmission that they sent. They did not accept that offer.
They still are NOT addressing the ****** bill I was forced to pay for their employee (name: ******) wrongfully telling my mechanic to have the first transmission reprogrammed, which it did not need, and they later confirmed this was not a typical recommendation they give for their parts via a phone call with ****** that my mechanic witnessed. They have provided in writing and verbally that they will pay this bill. I didnt even request them to pay the towing bill which I thought was a compromise, however I should request that as well. Now they are refusing to pay this bill.
yes I rejected having them work on my vehicle because every employee Ive spoken to via phone or email says different things. I do NOT TRUST their parts or what they say. And I certainly do not agree with having to tow my car to a place over an hour away from my home. And having to pay for fluid for another part. One employee said they will charge $700, then the other said free.
Everytime I have met their requests, they make more requests before they follow through on their word, if they do at all. After the first one didnt work, they never asked proof it didnt work. Instead they told my mechanic to take and have reprogrammed. That was wrong and I suffered from their recommendations monetarily. To the tune of $338.94 in diagnostics fees and $150 in towing. They disputed ****** saying the part was not incompatible, that it was instead faulty. I even discussed reimbursement at that point with their employee ****** which he was ready to do. He even told me on the phone, ok you wont need to send the part back we will just issue the refund. I decided to give them a chance to rectify the situation since they were agreeing to pay the ****** bill, and I agreed to let them send a second transmission. After the second transmission did not work, I called and spoke to ****** again, I stated I wanted a refund at this point. He said okay I will issue that, you do not need to return the part. I said well what about the ****** bill. He told me he could not see the emails where they agree to pay this. I forwarded it to him as requested. 3 hrs later hes calling me back to tell me I have to return the part for refund. Again, always more steps to meet for them to do what they say. The employees here are so inconsistent! I do not trust what they say. Please see attached emails for inconsistencies. I have plenty more to send.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:I will email you the video the mechanic sent me.
option 1. Require me to pay 4hrs of labor to send back second transmission. So I do not agree I should have to eat that cost after 16 hrs of labor and $414 in fluid and filters. You may have the first transmission back as I mentions
2. I do not trust you to work on my car. You have cost me outrageous amounts of ancillary fees for towing and diagnostics unnecessarily per your negligence which you have STILL not addressed in both your responses. And Im not agreeable to pay more in towing fees to get my car to your facility.
Sincerely,

I have emailed them the requested video to highlight the defective part. I do not accept either option they have offered as a resolution as both options would require me to suffer significant additional costs to receive a refund for the part only.
1. the first option would cost me an additional 4 hrs in labor fees to remove the defective part. I have already offered to return the first defective part. Also both parts have fluid and filters in them that I paid for.
2. Option two would not JUST cost me $80 in fluid. It would also cost me time and significant money In towing fees to bring my vehicle to their facility. I have lost faith in their service abilities through this process and do not want them working on my vehicle, nor is it a requirement of their warranty for their parts to be installed by their mechanic.Separately, not once have they addressed the issue of the ****** bill they promised to reimburse. I want this resolved.

How do you want us to resolve it?Customer Answer
Date: 03/07/2025
I am simply asking for a refund of the part at $1299 and the ****** bill of $338.94. I am not asking for refund of the shipping fee, the towing expenses I suffered because of your employees recs, the fluid and filters for these faulty parts or anything else. I never asked for reimbursement of the labor costs as I agree with you, your warranty doesnt cover it. I am simply NOT ok with spending ANY additional money for this refund no matter how big or small. I am happy to return the first transmission you sent. I think given my mechanic and I had followed every recommendation you gave throughout this whole process which lead to several unnecessary expenses, this is more than a reasonable request.Business Response

We gave you our options. Refund will be issued upon the receipt of our transmissions. We can't refund you while you have two of our transmissions in your possession.Customer Answer

Dear ********* *****,
Thank you for reaching out regarding your concerns with the *** transmission purchase. We understand your frustration and want to clarify our warranty policy and the next steps.
Our 90-day warranty covers the replacement of defective parts, but it does not cover labor costs associated with installation or removal. If you believe the transmission is defective, you may return it to us, and we will exchange it for another unit under warranty.
However, based on our experience, the issue you are experiencing is likely related to the transmission control module (***) requiring a relearn process, which is standard for *** transmissions after installation. At no point did we advise taking the vehicle to ****** for programming. Instead, the *** needs to be properly calibrated to work with the replacement transmission.
To proceed, we require repair records and diagnostic reports from your mechanic, including:
Documentation of the installation process
Error codes or specific mechanical findings
Any steps taken to complete the *** relearn process
Once we receive this information, we can further assess the situation and guide you accordingly. If you still believe the unit is faulty, you may return it for a replacement per our warranty policy.
Please provide the requested records at your earliest convenience so we can move forwardCustomer Answer

Ok, now they are in fact lying. The attached are screenshots of the emails I sent to them on 2/28/25 with the proof they requested and their acknowledgment of receipt. The two options they provided, would cause me to suffer more loss of money in order to obtain the refund. Neither of these are listed in their warranty guarantee for refund. And in fact their employee ****** stated the transmission would not need returned for the refund. This conversation was overheard by my mechanic who was present at the time of that phone call, and he is more than happy to provide affidavit attesting to Miguels statement in court.
I have further gone to offer to return the first transmission which they have neither accepted or declined. Lastly, after repeated requests to have them address the outstanding ****** bill they still have yet to make comment on this. I have not requested refund of any towing or fluid/filter expenses (non labor expenses) Ive endured due to their faulty parts. I have already compromised significantly with them. If they are unwilling to mediate, I will have no choice but to take legal action for all of the outstanding non-labor expenses, as well as pain and suffering for how long this has been dragged out.

Bought a used transmission from this company on 9/2/22 off of eBay for $1199.00 with a supposed mileage of 65k. Was shipped this transmission and delivered on 9/12/22 - installed it in my customers vehicle and has never worked (finished install 10/5/22). Contacted the guy many times. Went through all the testing to check and verify and ended up calling business and talking to owner John. He tells me after I went through multiple tests that he thinks they shipped me a bad one on accident and that he would send another one out right away. Time passes over the 2 weeks after we talked & past the 30 days on eBay for refund and he wants me to pay to ship it back, after he admitted to me it was their fault. I have called multiple times, I have sent messages and he refuse to send me another transmission or refund me any money unless I send him the defective transmission back, but he wants me to pay him to ship another. This is completely unethical and apparently, I am not the only business or person he has done this to. I believe he is using eBay commerce to scam people out of money and sending them defective used engine parts on purpose and then stringing people past the warranty date and making them pay more money. I have read other complaints about this but cannot contact eBay about the issue.
