On Thursday, 6 October, at 0730, I dropped my 200 corvettes off to Ken's service center, along with 4 new rims, vale stems, lugs, locks, and TPMS censors. I asked that they dismount the tires currently on the vehicle, and mount those on the 4 new wheels, install the new TPMS censors and valve stems, and mount and balance the tires. At 1330 I returned to pick up the vehicle, Kelly Pack completed the sale and gave me my keys and receipt. When I went out to the vehicle, I walked around to check out the new wheels and found that the passenger rear wheel had one small chip and a larger chip/dent in the outer lip of the wheel. When I went back inside to complain Kelly came out and agreed that there was damage and went back inside to find out what happened. After discussion with the technician and Ken, they returned to tell me that the wheel was damaged before they ever tried to install it and they were not liable. When I argued that the wheels were just unpacked at my home, and were perfect, Ken/Kelly both said their technician found the marks before he ever mounted the wheels and that he had documented and photographed the damage. If this was the case, I would think it would have been noted on the receipt and I would have been notified of the damage and not have to find it on my own. Ken informed me he would not take any responsibility and he checked with another goodyear store who told him the same thing. I don't understand why you would find damage yet continue with mounting the wheels and not notifying the customer prior to completing any work. I am estimating repairs to cost around $200 if I can find anyone locally to match the material and would like to see Ken work with me to repair the damage rather than just walking away saying it is not his problem. The damage is not terrible, but the wheels were just purchased and had never been on the vehicle and the store had no questions or issues prior to install or during payment.
